Live music with plenty of energy on a week day. I'm sure the weekend it is full and lively. The night we visited, we stopped in after eating at the Gristmill for a cold beer and enjoy the music. This was THE social community building when German immigrants came here in the 1800s to farm and grow cotton. Mr. Gruene (pronounced GREEN) and his family were the first to purchase land and many others followed. We love to visit Gruene's historical buildings and shops. There is plenty to see and do in this tiny historical district. Regardless, how you are dressed, just go for the fun of it.

What a great night out! Down to earth real Texas-style. The live band was wonderful, there was dancing and laughing - all for a donation and a couple of beers. Well worth the trip from San Antonio! A must-do for sure!

Just for a night, forget television, mobile phones, internet and all that hi-fi, Wi-Fi, sci-fi junk and pull on your jeans and cowboy boots and get your self down to the Gruene Hall.

This is good old-fashioned fun where the locals and visitors get together in the Hall and listen to a band of good ole boys playing stuff that will never go out of fashion.

No-one cares if you're young or old, expert line-dancer or complete beginner, just mosey on down and join in!!

Gruene Hall was a wonderful stop in New Braunfels. Grab a cold beer in the front and go enjoy the fantastic music. It was cool to see all the celebrity photos hanging up around the place. John Travolta was in the movie "Michael" in this music hall. Really rustic and fun.

The place is great to go any night of the week.

I was worried the only thing that they played was country but I saw a great Rockabilly band (the Georges) and had a blast.

The crowd that night was a good mix of people in western gear, people in 50s gear, and people in just normal clothes.

The whole place is very laid back with most seating in the form of long picnic tables.

It gets really packed and that was on a Wednesday night.

Be sure to bring cash though

Thank Brett L
