This was our family's second stay at The Main House, and we all hope we are able to return for another visit in the future. Our granddaughters enjoyed fishing in the pond, flying kites with their grandpa, climbing the big tree, swinging on the swing in the Oak Tree, and wandering around the place. Six year old Emily was so enchanted with the place, she kept going up and down the stairs and wandering around the house to explore. We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, took long walks, roasted marshmallows around the fire, and just enjoyed the nine of us being together without the hectic pace we are used to in Houston. The moon was full, so we weren't able to enjoy the meteor shower as we had several years earlier, but we were treated to quite a lightning display the first night and a big downpour. Highly recommend for a laid back weekend in the country.
The kitchen is stocked adequately w/pans & utensils,& there were plenty of clean towels & washcloths.More
