“Depends on the weather”
Reviewed 3 May 2012

We had reservations here for a week in early April 2012, just after Easter. The day we got here it was beautiful, sunny and just a light breeze. The park itself is in a perfect location, quick walk to the beach which was clean and the ocean water was a beautiful clear blue.. exactly what we came here for. Sites are nice and spacious for a big rig like our 38ft 5th wheel, the ones closest to the park office get good WIFI speed, not so sure about the others. Very impressed with the bath houses, modern, clean and lots of toilets and showers. They aren't open to the general public, campers get a key card to access them. You even have your choice of stair or elevator access to them if you have physical limitations.

Next day, things went downhill. A bad weather system moved in and stayed for the entire week we were there. Extremely high winds whipped the sand around so much that it wasn't even pleasant to be outside...you got sand blasted. Cooking outside was impossible without a tarp to block the wind but it didn't help much with the sand. All of our equipment, bikes, chairs, trailer got coated in sticky, gritty, sand. What a mess! The same system also threw tons of seaweed in the water and on the beach.... made swimming or fishing next to impossible.

Our timing really sucked because the day we left, the weather was gorgeous. The county workers were already working hard removing the seaweed from the beach that morning. So if you stay here when mother nature is having a good day, you'll love it. If she's have a bad day or week like we got, you won't have much fun.

This is a great park with the beach just over the knoll. Great people to work with. Clean level spaces and management isn't hung up on what "kind" of dog you have, just that they are well mannered. We have a goofy Rott n lab and some places ban Rotties. We pull a fifth wheel and the sites are very user friendly. I have stayed at several spots up and down the coast, this is by far my favorite.

The beach was clean, they grate it nightly. The free showers and restroom were cleaner than any campground I've ever stayed at. I B Magee park gives you key cards for showers and restrooms. Quiet time is 10 p.m. you can get the security phone number to rat on any troublemakers. They respond QUICKLY! The infield grounds are for RV and tent campers w/electric and water, picnic tables, no pit fires allowed. Primitive beach camping allow pit fires, no electric no water. The main RV grounds are a parking lot, picnic tables are available. Pets allowed, don't bring barkers, people like us WILL call security. It's very windy! We were there July 2011, temps in the high 80's.

We love this place. It is a value for what you get. I think they need start taking reservations as people can go in behind you if you arrive late and pay for your site making you have to leave. The showers are clean and somewhat private. At least here you have a curtain to prevent others from "peeping". The sites are very large.

The people are beyond friendly here. High presence of Police on beach makes you feel secure and safe. I do recommend being very careful walking on the beach at night. Too many drunks out there as we almost got ran over more than once. As well, it is very dark on the beach at night so I would advise against going out there alone. One night I was followed by someone that appeared to have come out of nowhere.

I think they should also enforce the limit of persons per site. Our neighbor rented one site, however almost 20 people were there each night with too many cars and tents put on one site.

My family and I spent 3 days here in June 2009. Although the tempture was already pushing 85, it felt more like 95. With hot sand and little shade we knew what to expect though. The camp ground we stayed at was above average in everything. The grounds were generaly clean, family friendly and easy in and out to major roads. The bathroom and shower facilities were excellent. If you go here make sure you pay the extra money to gain access to electric and water so you can utilize the newer bathroom and shower facilities. The beach itself has alot of seaweed around but it really didn't hinder our fun at all. My 7yr old daughter loved combing through it to find "stuff". The cost was a mere 18 dollars a night and that gave use electric, water and use of the shower facilities. Very cheap place to stay for beach front access. If you have an itch to camp on the beach or very, very near the beach then this is the place to go.
