“Small but cute diner type place”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

If you like a diner type of place, then this is the place. It's very small and can only seat about 20 people, so there is a wait, but the service is quick and tables turnover quite regularly (and you are on vacation at the beach, so chill). We were there for breakfast and it was just what we were looking for. The service was very friendly and accommodating. I had eggs that were cooked to perfection, sausage, whole wheat toast and grits just like my momma used to make (they even found me some shredded cheese to add to them) and a bowl of fresh fruit which was surprising big and very good. My breakfast buddy had the same, but added an order of pancakes, that were HUGE. . bigger than the plate and he was not able to finish them. I had a bite and they were pretty good. The tables are very close together, so if you don't like other people, then this is not the place for you. We had a very nice conversion with a couple that had been eating there for years and never missed it when they were in town.

They are only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday serving breakfast and lunch, so plan accordingly. Enjoy.

Two order of eggs, sausage, toast, grits, fruit, coffee and a HUGE order of pancakes. . .with tip $32

“The Best Breakfast Ever”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

We were first in the restaurant on Saturday morning a few minutes before opening. The owners offered us fresh hot coffee as they ate their employee meal. We ordered blueberry pancakes and eggs benedict served on their homemade buttermilk biscuit. Wow! Best meal on the island. Would highly recommend to anyone.

“Really glad we ate here”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

We stayed across the Street at the Tarpon Inn, and walked over to Frankie's. They just accept cash and they are just open Friday, Saturday, Sunday for breakfast and lunch until 3pm. The place looks pretty old and beat up but it is clean and the service might be a little slow but it is really good. It seemed like a fair number of locals were eating here, and that is a good sign, Frankie is the wife and Joe is the husband, and they commute from Houston,a 4 hour drive, where they have another business. Joe told us the story that they were helping out a friend running a restaurant at the location, and he quit and they took over five years ago. I had the shrimp omelet and I am glad I did, my wife had the eggs benedict. Eating here and hearing Joe's story was a real treat.

“Best Pancakes Ever”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

You need to eat breakfast here. A small place where you might have to share a table or wait, but it is worth it. I have never had pancakes this good. This is where you go to eat breakfast in Port Aransas. Service is a little slow, but it is worth it. The food is worth any wait and any price. Best of all is that it is very inexpensive. Go eat breakfast here and you will not be disappointed.
