Coral Cay Beachfront Condominiums
Reviewed 8 April 2013

My family of 5 stayed at Coral Cay in March 2013 for 4 nights. The facilities there are great! We enjoyed both of the pools (one was heated), we used their BBQ grills, and we even tried out the shuffleboard court. I cant even describe how nice the grounds are kept- nice landscaping and beautiful clean pools. The boardwalk was incredibly close to our room and went right to the beach. Coral Cay is in town and close to restaurants and Port A's main strip. We could be at Whataburger within 2 minutes!
We chose a small efficiency to cut back on costs, and loved that Coral Cay allowed us to pay only $10 for each extra person over the occupancy limit of four. (Some resorts have steadfast occupancy limits and because we have 3 small children we were over their limits for a basic room). Each room at Coral Cay is privately owned, and although we loved the facilities, our room was pretty disappointing. The room was not real clean. Daily maid service provided fresh towels and made the beds, but the upholstery on the kitchen chairs was stained with old mold spots, some of the dishes weren't clean, and the room just didn't have a fresh clean smell. The bathtub drain also didn't work, and the TV remote batteries were dead. In all fairness, we are not big complainers, so we didn't say anything and give them the chance to fix these things. The office staff was very nice and I'm sure they would have looked in to it if they had been aware.
The room was very cheap considering it was spring break and we were right on the beach. We may stay here again, but we will probably ask the office staff which condo they recommend, whose owners provide better upkeep.

Room Tip: Look for a room close to the boardwalk if you'll be spending a lot of time at the beach.

Good location. Short walk to beach. Good view of beach. They have grills, pools, tennis, too. Saw NO critters (mice, roaches). Wife and two kids all had no complaints. Hot water runs out just like at home though so plan showers accordingly!

Stayed there many times, my family and i always chose to go back every year. The staff is very nice, clean rooms and convenient to everything, you can't get lost. This year we stayed elsewhere cause coral cay doesn' t allow dog. Hopefully in the future you can change your mind about pets.

We are staying here for two nights and expected maid service but never got it. They don't supply conditioner at all but this is not mentioned n their website. For $160 a night. I expect the beds to be made. I expect a housekeeping fee refund when I check out tomorrow but the staff seems indifferent so I doubt we will get it. Also they asked me to walk over to get the shampoo as well. They gave us one small bottle barely enough for someone with shoulder length hair and we have four guests on our group. We will never stay her again after such awful service

Clean and convenient to the beach. Two pools. Small kitchen. Very comfortable. Good value. Well maintained. Good place to stay for a long weekend but I would need more space if staying for a week. Would stay here again.

Stayed at the Coral Cay from 7/22 thru 7/25. Have stayed here several times in the past and each stay has been consistent. The condos are older and the decor is a bit dated, but they are located in a great area, which is close to town and has great beach access. We arrived 30 min prior to check-in and it was quick and we were on our way in probably less than 15 min. Although the condo we had, stated a gulf view, we pretty much faced a dune and another house next door, but that's OK. It was a nice, quiet area. We had a one bedroom condo with a separate living, kitchen, & dining area. It was cleaned daily with plenty of fresh towels. The only complaint I had was after the room was cleaned each day, the maid service never left soap in the bathroom. The 1st day they took all our used soap bars and left one small bar that we had to use for the remaining days. There is alot of parking available and two great pools. Would definitely recommend the Coral Cay as a place to stay when in Port A.

Although these are some of the closest condos to the beach, few of these units would offer a view, and admittedly, these were built perhaps several decades ago. In every other way, these condos outperform all the others in which I have stayed in Port Aransas, and here is why:

The location is near town and the best beach area for families. Meanwhile, I hoped that this would be a relatively quiet family place, without the party atmosphere and loud all-night activity found at many larger condos down the beach, and this place delivered on that basis. We were four adults and one 12-year-old. We found our 2 bedroom, 1-1/2 bath condo, Unit 128 on the ground floor, to be very, very clean, attractive, and spacious. It was well-equipped and had comfortable furniture and beds. The bed linens were attractive and the dining table was very nice. This unit was well-maintained and well-stocked. The kitchen was small, but had a nice opening to the living area. The bedrooms were private and away from the sounds of the living area. The only improvement would be room-darkening window coverings.

The bonuses at these condos: daily services of fresh, nice towels delivered to your room, trash being emptied for you, and the beds being made. It seemed like a hotel! Other wonderful bonuses: very nice staff and a very short boardwalk to the well-maintained, public Magee Beach.
