We happened upon this little treasure, thanks to TripAdvisor. Port Aransas hidden treasure.
Worth the money, and the short walk to beaches that are clean, uninhibited and not overly crowded. We took bag chairs, an easy up, cooler, food, shovels and pals. With a 11 year old and 17 year old rarely can we entertain them both but this place was a winner with both.

I love this little island get away. It is clean and fun and a great place to find shells. The ferry boat ride over is nice too.

We take the Jetty boat over each time we go to Port A. Great island for hiking , shelling and relaxing. Be sure to take an ice chest. A lot of Sand Dollars and great place for a treasure hunt. We had a 6 and 7 yr old , took a pop up for shade and food. Love going here

We've gone several times to the island. We always enjoy the Jetty boat ride; we've seen dolphins most times when we're on the boat or waiting to board the boat. The 2 hour timeframe between boat shuttles can be a little trying if you have little ones (under 5) and they have issues (medical or other). There is nothing but beach, water and sea shells (mostly sand dollars when we've gone) - so make sure to pack some shade, lots of drinks and a picnic lunch if you're going to stay for any period of time. We normally catch the 2nd boat over and catch one later in the afternoon back.

The boat ride is short(5-10 minutes for any one afraid of getting sick), everyone from payment desk to the person getting us off the boat very pleasant. A lengthy walk to the beach which was empty except for us few who arrived together on the boat. If you have a lot to carry, bring a cart. No seaweed in the water, old crunchy seaweed on the beach that you wanna keep your flip flops on to walk across. Found a couple sand dollars that just washed up right in front of us. It was a fun couple of hours to break up the day. We were entertained by sea turtles and dolphins while waiting for our boat ride back.
