This was a lovely little place, excellent service, nice ambiance, well cooked, fresh food at moderate prices. We had the strip steak and the fried fish. The gazpacho was perfect for a hot summer night and the German potatoes were a pleasant change from fries. The salad had a homemade gorgonzola dressing that was delicious and the sauteed vegies were well seasoned. A wider choice of beer on draft would have been welcome, but the one German lager they had was good. Highly recommended, we would come back.

I have driven by this restaurant for years, never having once tried it. The outside is unassuming, and we try to visit waterfront places for the ambiance. We cane to Marcel's because of the good reviews on trip advisor, and we were not disappointed.
Having traveled to Germany in the past, I was worried that the food would not compare well, but once inside this low profile building, you feel like you are sitting in a Bavarian cafe. They have an excellent beer selection. I ordered the drum, which was cooked perfectly with a buttery hollandaise sauce. My husband ordered the best meal at the table; weinerscnitzel that was better than any I had ever tasted. The veal was tender, and the breading was crispy. It had a beautiful mushroom reduction and was served with flavorful German potatoes. Lots of butter and bacon fat in this meal, but worth every bite.
We will go back for sure.

my wife and i had diner here on a saturday evening. the place wasn't packed but was busy. service was prompt and thorough. they have a wide selection of german beer and are willing to help you select. we had the crab cakes for starters and they were the best i have had in a long time. we did not partake of the german menu. she had the filet and i had the swordfish special. both were prepared well and very tasty. sides are included with the entrees so it keeps the bill reasonable. an awesome creme brute to finish the evening

We haven't had such authentic and exquisite food since leaving Germany where we were stationed for 3 years. The wait staff were very friendly, personable and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and dining experience and would highly recommend Marcels to anyone looking for fresh seafood dinners and/or authentic homemade German food. The prices seemed very reasonable for the quality of food and compared to other restaurants in the area.

My group of 7 had a wonderful meal at Marcel's. The service was excellent, something not often encountered especially in a small town full of tourists. The spaetzle and other german dishes were fantastic. My 12 year old especially loved the cream of leek soup and dessert, both clearly made on premises from classic European recipes. I highly recommend Marcel's and will visit again.
