A neat piece of history. You can go up into the lighthouse as well. Beautiful view of the bay. There’s also little shops that locals sell handmade items within walking distance.

Finally decided to try the lighthouse after passing it all these years. It is a few bucks to climb inside, no big deal. It is very hot going up and waiting for others to come out can be a little pain as people don't know how to take turns anymore, but once you get to the top there is a wonderful breeze to cool off with and a wonderful view. The spiral staircase can be a little challenging for older folks or like my wife who got a little disoriented with the heat and spiraling. The top has a little whole to climb thru with a little ladder. It was cool to navigate thru and imagine what SPI looked like 100 years ago. I would recommend giving it a try. It is only a few bucks and if you have kids they will love it. My 3 year old did.

77 steps to the top. And once you get there - take a picture and go back down - not much to it. Don't plan on going up or down too fast.

I figured this would be a free attraction because I did not see any signs. But it is not when you walk into the lighthouse a lady sitting at a small desk tells you that you have to pay to go up to the top. I thought that was ridiculous and refuse to pay or go to the top. Four dollars for an adult to climb three flights of stairs is ridiculous and they charge kids as well would not recommend will not go back.

There is a lot of history with this Lighthouse. I suggest purchasing the combo package with the history museum.
You get to climb the stairs and go out on the balcony of the lighthouse to take pictures.
There is a square around the area with shopping and restaurants and other things to do
