I dont like to say anthing bad about anyone. So now if you are a grown man or woman who likes to ruff it this is a good place to stay. Its not a five star hotel. But it is a roof over your head.its a great place to stay if you like fishing. There is a boat ramp 2 blocks away. You can even put your boat in the water drive your truck back to hotel and park. You do have to check pricing .The staff has been very nice to me and friends. Im sure every body has a bad day.

I have stayed here a few times. On the last stay I called three times and was quoted three different prices. Upon arrival I asked about the breakfast and was told " we are not doing that now " They gave me a extra packet of coffee and two of the smallest Honey buns I have ever seen. Size of a 50 cent piece. The room was clean but basic. Our internet connection worked but another guest next to us seemed to be having problems. All in all its a ok place and not much else to pick from in town but if someone cared to put in another hotel and ran it well it would put this one out of business. I would not pay over $75 to stay here

Room Tip: Call several times to be sure you are quoted the best price.

I agree with other reviewers regarding this motel being best for a guys fishing trip, but not a family vacation destination. Reminded me a little too much of the location of "No Country for Old Men".

The bathrooms are newly remodeled, but the flooring and carpeting is in terrible shape. Small fridge in room is great, television reception spotty at times. Bed and linens were clean, owners seemed nice enough.
Don't know that I would recommend eating the breakfast though -- try Josie's for the huge breakfast tacos instead.

Also be aware that the scrawny cats that roam the property are die-hard scavengers so keep your bait and fish secured if you leave it in your truckbed.

just stayed here for the big 4rth of july weekend, port o'conner is at the end of the line on a 20 miles strech. so thats 40 miles round trip if you are unable to book a room.

we went on the buisiest day of the year hands down. town of 1000, expands to 10,000. great unspolied town with no real main street of town shops at all.

room was recently remodeled which helps big time, but they just went right over what was there. carpet is nice, but the plywood buckled underneath was un welcome. hokey kind of plumbing work and the furniture was really beat up.

try to get to get in at the pogo next time, or one more town to the west.
very nice cabins, in a sleepy fishing town setting

The new owners updated this motel a few years ago and made this place much nicer. The staff is very helpful. The rooms have nice bathrooms, a microwave, and fridge. Perfect for people wanting to fish and have a clean room to come back to relax. Good location.

Not bad if you are on a fishing trip with the guys but not recommended for a trip with women. Just your basic no name hotel. They have greatly improved the rooms and are nice people running the hotel. I have stayed here numerous times on the big weekends. Looks to be overrated - but great to have a 100 dollar room when no other choices.

There are not a lot of lodging choices in Port O´Connor and this was our first time at this motel. It reportedly underwent a major renovation in the recent past and is a comfortable choice at a good price.
