Description: This is more than just greasy fried fish. Hemingways creates an elegant, yet reasonable menu selection. If you are looking for a place to relax away from the noisy and crowded bars, this is the place to go. The food is spectacular.

Even a change in management hasn't helped the decline. The first time was great but it's not even been good since.

We had a party of 8 and went in without a reservation. We were reluctant due to reviews but have to say that we had an amazingly great dinner and enjoyed it very much. Though there seems to have been a lot of mixed reviews I feel the need to express that it is not at all what some of the old reviews say it is. The food was EXCEPTIONAL and the service (Jeff was our server... highly recommend him) was amazing!!! We were very happy and this will definitely be our favorite place to go when we are in Rockport! We really enjoyed it a lot.

We had lunch here during Rockport's first "Block Party" on Jy 20. Appetizers were half-priced so Zi ordered the Crab-stuffed Avocado (paid $8/reg price $ 16). The presentation was a work of art with the colorful sauces drizzled across the top were quite tasty. Not sure I would pay $16 but I will definitely order it during regular Happy Hour when the are half-priced. Husband ordered jumbalaya pasta and was also very pleased with portion size and taste. Our server needs more training- wasn't attentive to our empty drink glasses and we had to ask for silverware after she brought our meals. Wonderful ambiance-very comfortable.

July 4, 2013, a sunny day in Rockport Tx. Lunch at Hemingways was suggested by a local gallery owner. We were seated immediately in a lovely dining room. Our waiter arrived promptly and too our drink order. so far, so good. Bread came out- burned on the bottom. We ordered the shrimp pita - seemed like a good price at $13. After waiting 30 minutes, one plate came out with a burned pita, but nice toppings. Our server informed us that he had only ordered one, so he would have the chef get another order out right away. Fifteen minutes later, the second plate came out- not burned. :-) In his defense, the waiter was attentive as we all waited impatiently for the kitchen to put out the taco. When the bill arrived, we had been charged an additional $5 each for the shrimp on our pita. Hmmm. so now, the shrimp tacos were $18. Not such a nice deal. Oh well. We departed and won't be returning. Had a manager come by and visited with us, I might be of a different mind. As it is, I leave you to come to your own conclusion. We were disappointed.

BTW- the restaurant physical plant is very nice.

We visited Hemmingways for lunch on Saturday June 29th 2013. I had the chicken primavera and my wife chose the chicken Alfredo. The pasta fresh and cooked to perfection, with the chicken moist and enhanced with a delightfully light red sauce. Steamed vegetables
My wife remarked to her meal as superb with a glass of house white wine.
Hemmingways is back, and better than before. by far the best food in the area.
The wait staff lack maturity to provide quality service although they did try.
I travel for a living and have eaten at many would be fine dinning eateries. Hemmingways provided a very cheap and excellent luncheon experience. Ian & Patricia Carey.
