We stayed there for one night on Memorial Day weekend. I am not sure we would go back, though. Even though the rooms were "clean", there was a musty smell and we kept finding small roaches, which was pretty disgusting. Also, the walls are so thin you can hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms. But otherwise, the h we were relatively close to hotel is easy to find, it's relatively close to the beach and the staff is helpful and friendly.

We stayed here in February. We aren't luxury tourists, just looking for a place to stay near the water, and were very pleased with our stay. Rooms scrupulously clean--always our first requirement--and friendly staff. The beds were very comfortable. Yes, the walls are a bit thin and we could hear some movement up above, but the neighborhood was quiet. And it's a bit weird that we couldn't park in front of our door, because that was parking for the place next door--we were in the side building. But the location is great, right close to the park and the artist strip shopping. Breakfast was okay, nothing much for the gluten-free sugar-free picky eater, but we've always felt that was asking a bit much anyway. Considering that the price is 30-40 dollars lower than the next-rated places, we were absolutely happy with our choice and will certainly consider coming back here.

My husband stayed there for a night and it was very nice. We had the King non-smoking. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We could see the water by just stepping outside of our door. Definately would stay there again.

We had a really nice stay here. The bed was really comfortable, the room was clean and it is in a nice quiet location. It is close to restaurants, convenient stores and the beach. Mo, the desk clerk was a pleasure. I would recommend this hotel.

You know, I just don't understand sometimes. I read all the bad reviews and I don't know what some of these folks expect for the price that this motel charges. It is an older property that has been taken over by another management company, refurbished somewhat, and offered to the public at a discount. I found my room to be clean and very comfortable. The furniture and TV are older, but work just fine. The room is as large or larger than the more modern motel offerings, the bed very comfortable, bug free and clean. Everything worked just fine. Location is good on the bay. The staff was very friendly to me. Granted, the breakfast leaves something to be desired, but, you know, again what do you want for the price. Go pay twice the amount to get a little nicer place. For me, the value was where this motel was at.

In addition to the physical issues pointed out by previous reviewers, we dealt with either an incompetent or dishonest housekeeper. As we left for breakfast the morning of the day we were scheduled to check out, we ran into the housekeeper outside our door. In fact we had to step around her cleaning cart. She asked if we were checking out and we said no, we would be back. In addition, we hung the do not disturb sign on the door. We returned at 11:00 (checkout is noon) and found the housekeeper in our room. As I walked in she said "Did you forget something?" I told her we had not checked out yet and went to the refrigerator to get the food and drinks we had specifically left there to take with us. The refrigerator was empty. She had thrown away the drinks and a fork we borrowed from my son who lives in Rockport. In addition, she had taken our tupperware containers and stashed them apparently in the employee area. After she gave me back our containers we complained to the front desk and they gave us the standard "The manager is not here but he will call you tomorrow" line. The front desk employee also made the excuse for the housekeeper that the do not disturb sign must have blown off the door - disregarding the conversation we had with the housekeeper that we were NOT CHECKING OUT!. Needless to say we never got a call and our efforts to contact the manger were not successful. AVOID THIS HOTEL!

Thank you for taking the time to write this detailed review of your recent stay. Your comments are greatly appreciated, and I sincerely regret that we fell short on guest satisfaction. Please accept my apologies for the misunderstandings with the housekeeper and the front desk staff. I will review this in detail with our housekeeping staff and as well as how to address our guests properly. We will work very hard to provide better customer service . I know we can improve.
Once again, thank you and hope you will return and experience a better stay with us.
Sincerely
JM

This is one of the most overly rated hotels I have ever encountered. We checked in with the intention of staying two nights. Rooms have a worn appearance and smell of mildew. The door to the room was poorly aligned leaving a wide crack to the outside with the door closed. Worst problem was that a large bug was in the bed, and we unknowingly squashed it all over the sheets during our night's sleep. Not a good awakening! Informed the housekeeper and was asked if we wanted the sheets changed! We had morning business meetings and did not make a decision to not stay the second night until two hours after checkout time. Explained the reasons we wanted to leave to the desk clerk but was told the manager, who was conveniently unavailable, would have to make the decision if we would be charged for the second night. Checked my credit card charges later and found that we had been charged for two nights. After complaining to the hotel chain's customer service, the hotels responded saying that I had been charged, but the charge would be removed within 5 to 7 days. We will wait and see, but for sure we will never stay here again.

Room Tip: I would be surprised if there was a room worth recommending!
