My family and I had an amazing stay! The owners were great - very accommodating, extremely friendly, and personable. We arrived in Salado very late at night and the Russell's left the light on for us, no hassle at all. The breakfasts were very tasty and we always looked forward to our morning chats. The rooms were very cozy and quaint. I guarantee you will never experience this type of hospitality in any other establishment.

My daughter and I were just passing through Salado for one night, and they took us in last minute in the middle of the night and were very kind and welcoming. Gave us an adorable cottage, very roomy yet cozy at the same time. Made us a delicious breakfast the next day and showed us around before we left. VERY satisfied, and will most definitely be going back.

What an incredible experience! Cozy, private cottages. Incredible rustic and charming decor. Very hospitable service. NO PHONES, NO TELEVISIONS! We survived. Treat yourself if you're ever in Salado. The Russells were so accomadating and interesting, sharing the history of the property. The food was wonderful and home-made. We easily walked to the shopping areas.

The Baines House Bed & Breakfast is the place to stay in Salado,Texas. We stayed in the Seaberry Cottage in May of 2012 and was delighted with the space, decor, and the comfort. The Russell's attention to detail from the decor in the cottage to the breakfast and the afternoon tea made the weekend get-away extra special. The Russell's are delightful and Sheryl is a great story teller and Rod an excellent chef! Sheryl has put her heart into all the antiques that decorate the rooms. A "million" pillows on the bed, and the more we moved they seemed to multiply! Well placed antique items and furniture gave a historical feel of Texas in the 1860's. Our cottage even had a sunken tub out on the back porch! I don't know whether they had sunken tubs in the 1860's but it was definitely unique! All in all, we had a wonderful, relaxed weekend. I recommend this Bed and Breakfast to everyone.

I highly recommend Baines House Bed & Breakfast to anyone spending a night or two in Salado. We stayed in their "Seaberry Cottage", and could not have asked for a better cottage. The owner, Sheryl, prepared the best breakfast the two and a half days we were there. She was also very knowledgeable about any subjet that was brought up in conversation. I will never stay anywhere else in Salado. The cottage grounds are amazing, while each individual cottage was beautiful and unique in their own right. Sheryl told us the best places to go for dinner, drinks or a late night meal.

Room Tip: Seaberry Cottage is, in my opiniion, the best cottage on the grounds.
