Hurricane Ike wiped out the original Tookies that had been around forever in Seabrook. It took a long time to reopen, but the wait was worth it. The famous and unique burgers are great. Huge onion rings and great fries.

We wanted to see the new Tookies, and we're very disappointed. It was very noisy, sounded as if they were throwing chairs behind us and a toy train was circling overhead. The hamburger, a squealer, was greasy. Not going back soon

Tookies Burgers and More is a Seabrook institution that recently reopened after being flooded by hurricane Ike. The new owners have cleaned up the place and the new deck outback is a great place for outdoor dining. The menu is basically the same with the addition of a full bar. The burgers are handmade and better than the original, and of course you have to have the platter of giant onion rings!

Really excited that they reopened this Clear Lake staple. It's a walk down memory lane for those of us who have been eating there since we were kids. They do a great job of bringing back the old menu, with awesome new additions like the Pelican Eggs! Yum. Burgers are bigger now, and while it's true that Texas likes everything bigger, I think some tastiness gets lost in the larger burger. Onion rings are thicker now, and i think i preferred the old-thinner battered ones. But this is probably just because thats how i remember them, so thats what i was hoping for this time around as well. All in all, it's not exact, but it's pretty darn close.
