We reserved the Falcon Point Ranch bunkhouse with three other families in June 2012. While it had plenty of space for all of us, it was infested with scorpions and the floor was covered with dead bugs upon our arrival. I realize that scorpions are more common near the Texas coast, but we were killing 2-3 per day and had babies and small children with us.
Some pros to the property: it is the newest place to stay in Seadrift and the pool area at the resort is beautiful. I wish we'd had more time to spend at the pool because it's the best part. We did not eat at the restaurant so I can't comment on that. We might stay here again, but we do we will pay the extra money to stay at the resort that is hopefully inspected more often for pests. The bathrooms and kitchens, while not free of pests, were well-stocked with supplies.
I don't recommend staying at the bunkhouse if you have small children (due to the scorpions inside and the rattlesnakes outside) or if you will need internet/cell phone access. Speaking of phone service, there was a wall phone in the bunkhouse but it did not connect to the main resort or even give us a dial tone.
