Came with a big family and everyone enjoyed their meals. If you like spice, you will love the Vera Cruzano plates. Shrimp tacos are a big crowd pleaser.

We had cerviche, Camaronitas Diablitos and the blackened fish tacos. The food was all very good and seemed fresh. The Camaronitas Diablitos tasted great but the shrimp were very small and at $2.25/piece was not worth it. The fish tacos were very good.

The service was great, the girls were all very smiley and did a good job.

Overall good food, service and value. We will go back for sure on our next visit to South Padre.

We ate at Cap'n Roy's twice while on SPI, despite the not so great service. Their fish tacos are delicious. Their fried food was decent, and their french fries were pretty good. My husband's seafood platter was missing oysters - when he asked our server about this, he was told that they didn't have any due to an oil spill. This is understandable, but it would have been nice if they had mentioned that when he was ordering. They also gave him a baked potato instead of the french fries that he had ordered, but this was replaced fairly quickly.

The second time that we ate there (my husband wanted their fish tacos), we sat at our table for 10 minutes before anyone bothered to come by. We were thinking of just leaving, but stuck it out because my husband really wanted those tacos. We were given free chips and salsa because of our wait, which was nice. Their fumi salad was pretty tasty - we had never had it before, but it was light and a nice contrast to the fried stuff.

We would consider going back here for the fish tacos. They do have a pick-up window, so that might be a better option than eating in the restaurant and dealing with the mediocre service. This place is nothing fancy decor-wise, but good for casual meals.

We ate there on a recent trip to south padre. The food was good and the staff was ok. Shrimp and fish were above average.

There are some great items on the menu, but the place itself is not inviting, so I prefer takeout. The shrimp diablo are divine, and try the odd but yummy cabbage salad.
