“Lunch on the bayside”

Great place and right price for family lunch. Quick service and good food. The kids wanted to eat there again. Sit on the patio, enjoy the breeze and the view. Recommend the blackened fish tacos with Spanish rice.

“Zero accountability.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

Drove past their location and noticed their sign advertised a cajun boil that night and immediatly got excited. I looked up their number and called in to get the details, but alas no answer. Figured it would all be good, sold the entire fam on going there for dinner. Got to the table only to be told there was no boil afterall because "their chef was at a fishing tournament". This despite the paper ads, and the sign outside. Just downright poor business, and poor excuse.

We decided to stay and eat anyways but things didnt get better. To add insult to injury, we ordered fried fish which was great but they goofed. They served us the freshly caught red snapper the table next to us had brought in for themselves. Then they had the audacity to tell the other table that "we ate their snapper". Like it was somehow our fault. The table next to us was understandably quite upset, and it just wrecked the night for everyone.

Never. Ever. going back.

“Beautiful view”

I've never been here for dinner but this is one of the best places to have lunch on the island. We sat out on the deck for lunch twice during our week long trip. The covered seating keeps you out of the sun but the deck is completely open so you can view the water and watch kayakers and boats coming in and out. The blackened fish tacos are excellent! Perfect island atmosphere.

“Yum! Cajun crawfish boil”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

Saw an ad in the Padre magazine about the Cajun boil at Parrot Eyes. Interestingly, it wasn't on the menu...maybe because it is served on the weekend only. We ordered the boil and the waitress stated they just ran out of propane and it will take about 20 minutes to get it. She was very apologetic. Being in SPI, we weren't in a big rush. We wanted to try an appetizer so no biggie for the wait. Most individuals we saw ordered the Fried platter which were large portions. When our Cajun boil come out, other customers started asking about the Cajun boil. In the Cajun boil, it had about 2lb of crawfish, 1 lb of shrimp, lots of red potatoes, corn, sausage and cocktail links. The kids order burgers and it took longer than our order to hit the table. If you are looking for fast service, this is not the place for you. The staff were friendly. The restaurant seemed cleaned. We ate inside. The Cajun boil was definitely worth the wait.
