Recommended length of visit: More than 3 hours
Owner description: We create memories! The Wells family has served South Padre Island for 5 generations and we create memories that last a life time! Our Adventure Park is located at the end of State Park Road 100 with forty acres of land spanning from the Gulf of Mexico to the Laguna Madre Bay that provides an unparalleled location for Adventure on South Padre Island. Our horseback rides are along the beach and water's edge and we often see a variety of shoreline and marine life and we get to ride in the remote portion of the Island that few people get to experience. No crowds here! Our Petting Barn is filled with birds and animals we have rescued or have been donated to us for a forever home. Children can enjoy a safe and educational interaction with all of our birds and animals (us big kids too). Dolores also owns The Massage & Healing Arts Center and her licensed and professional Massage Therapists are ready for your pampered needs after a fun day at the beach. Come; make your memories with us! We love what we do and we look forward to exploring the Island with you soon. Doyle & Dolores Wells

The kids had fun feeding the animals but for $10/person it's kind of ridiculous. The kids enjoyed the talking parrots too. The whole place needs a bit of upkeep as well. I've seen more than my share of run down farmsteads but usually they aren't at places that charge you to come in.

“Horseback riding”
Reviewed 8 January 2014

Place was through and professional. Enjoyed the trail ride on the beach, along with great, personable guides. There was time for picture taking and enjoying the surrounding view. I would go back again but will take the sunset ride, which is little longer.

“This Place is Awesome”
Reviewed 7 January 2014 via mobile

Honestly, when we booked it, we were expecting another tourist trap, and when you get there, it kind of looks like one. Petting zoo, horses, ATVs, and lots of signs.

We checked in, got to the horses, they put us one horses according to our skill level. The wife to be and I were matched well for horses.

I was expecting a sort-of close to the beach ride that wouldn't be a full hour, but to my surprise, the ride was the full duration, and it literally went on the beach and even into the ocean.

We had two awesome guides. Friendly, and willing to teach riders more about riding if they wanted to learn. They both took interest in the people riding and didn't look at them like they were just dollar signs. Overall, some great people.

You can't beat this experience at all. Well worth the money, and if you book online, you get a discount too.

“Visited the petting barn”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

Our boys decided the horse ride was a bit much, and we opted to visit the petting barn instead. It's a bit pricy, $10 per person, but you get to pet and feed all kinds of very friendly and affectionate creatures. We had a great time.

“Wonderful Anniversary”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

I would HIGHLY recommend this!!! We had originally booked for another activity for our anniversary while at South Padre Island. However, due to mechanical issues they canceled. So I suggested this to my husband and it was PERFECT. The staff was wonderful. Mandy was our guide and she did a great job. The horses were fine and it was so much fun to get to gallop on the beach. The sunset was beautiful and she took us to great places for pictures. She also took some really good ones of us. It is definitely a memory I'll cherish.
