“Great Breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

Everything I've ever had here was great, except the home fries.
I found them bland, but I like spicy. These are just fried potatoes, nothing fancy.
Seriously though, everything else has been awesome.

“What a hidden gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

My expectations for food in Temple, Texas was not that high, but this place was a true delight. The more average service and seating is the only thing that is keeping me from rating this as one of the best meals ever. The person in the back, the Chef, really has a sense of presentation, style and blending flavors that is truly above average. I want to call your attention to the red onion slaw, which is really different, and probably the best cole slaw I have ever ordered, and the Shrimp and Grits, which is a beautiful collection of southern things, a little Okra, a couple of black eyed peas, and little ham hock, some red sauce, with big tasty shrimp on a plate of perfectly prepared hominy -- it was Southern Cooking as art. Some nice vegetarian dishes also. Great beers at a reasonable price. Limited wine selection.

“Fresh from the farm food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014

We had breakfast here one weekday morning and loved it! Fresh blueberry pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, sunny side up eggs, bacon, herbed potatoes, bacon...need I say more? Everything was freshly made, and they are kid-friendly with a kid menu coloring page. There's a chalkboard that has a list of all food items and which local farm they obtain from. Great place! Located convenient to freeway, Scott & White Hospital, and our hotel.

The bread is wonderful! The breakfast is a bit pricey but good. Very clean and people friendly. City needed a good bakery with gluten free products.
