The staff was very helpful and informed. The Museum area was very informative and had information from around the Lajitas area. Artifacts that would be interesting to everyone, in one shape or form or another. We hiked a couple of trails and the desert has many things to offer.

We were on our way to a day of hiking in Big Bend Ranch State Park and didn't really want to take the time to stop but we are very glad we did. The ranger was very helpful and gave us lots of good advice and suggestions and tips. Also guides to several of the trails. The museum, gardens etc. were very nice as well. Worth the time it takes to stop by if you are going into the park.

Stopped there shortly after leaving Terlingua because it was mentioned in our Travel Guide Book.
It was well worth the stop. We did not spend much time and mainly enjoyed the garden with the assembly of the various plants from the region. There would be much more to see and information for exploration of the Big Bend State Park. It was interesting to see the names of the different plants.

The Barton Warnock center is also the welcoming center for the Big Bend Ranch State Park. Park information, books, maps, etc. available. Behind the center is a beautiful nature trail where you might see numerous birds, quail, etc.
