“Not Bad Hotel”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

Looks like an older hotel purchased by Hampton Inn. In nice area with a few local locations to eat. More of a work mans hotel. Rooms not bad but furniture old style. Bed was nice which is what they promote. Understand breakfast setup but it tends to be more basic in style. Could use some up grade on their breakfast format.

Dear Charles S,
Thank you for your review of the Hampton Inn Texas City. I'm glad that you enjoyed our beds and our location. I'm sorry that our breakfast didn't meet your expectations. I hope that if you find yourself back in the area, you will allow us to host you again.

Sincerely,

Great Staff. Always friendly and Helpful. Great location and always clean - not an easy task for coastal properties like this one. Great Staff. Always friendly and Helpful. We used the Hampton Inn in Texas City as our starting point for a cruise we took on March 15th out of Galveston. The hotel was only a 15-20 minute drive to the port which was awesome and the price was great considering they were charging almost double what we paid in Galveston. But what really sets this place apart is the service and staff. From the moment you walk into the lobby you're greeted as if you've been there a 100 times and they've known you for years. Every little thing you needed or asked for was greeted with a smile and taken care of quickly. We even had one of our party leave their glasses in the room and they had them ready and in a nice safe bag on our return.

The food in the breakfast area was good. About what you'd expect from a hot breakfast hotel, but there was always plenty of it and the place was spotless. The coffee was really good as well.

This hotel is definitely older but you wouldn't know it by how clean everything is. I can't say enough about the bed and duvet. Probably one of the most comfortable sleeps I've ever had in a hotel. If you're traveling for a cruise or need a couple days outside of Houston or on the way to Galveston don't hesitate!!! We took a night trip to a wonderful little gulf town called Kemah for dinner. It's very close to the hotel and has great little restaurants and bars, plus a very lively little pier. What an unexpeted gem to add to a wonderful stay.

You won't regret booking this Hampton Inn.

I travel quite often and this hotel was one of the least expensive and best hotels I have stayed at, possibly ever. There were no issues during my week stay and the room was perfect! We were close to Galveston to visit a couple of days, Kemah for attractions and the outlet mall. There was an indoor pool, which we never had a chance to use; however, it appeared very clean. We were in the room on one of the days when housekeeping came and they refreshed towels and asked if we needed anything. It was an excellent choice overall for our week.

We were met with a very helpful and friendly lady at the front desk when we first arrived at the Hampton Inn in Texas City and were given hints as to our visit to Galveston which is 15 miles away. Everything was cozy and clean in our room and we enjoyed the time we spent in "our home away from home"!
