Nice history. I love the old footage. Amazing how fast a city can become shattered so quickly. Very nice displays. Clean. Informative. Don't miss the upstairs TRAIN museum. worth a visit.

Texas City is located off I-45 between Houston and Galveston. Why anyone would go there is puzzling because there is nothing in the downtown area and most places seem to be boarded up or for sale. It doesn't seem to have progressed much since the explosion of '47. However, if you do happen to get lost and end up there, the Texas City Museum is worth a visit. For $3.00, one can spend an hour or two viewing information and memorabilia about the 1947 explosion which killed quite a few people and caused considerable damage. There's also other information (photos and articles) about the military.
