“Great Hospitality!”
Reviewed 15 May 2013

When we first pulled up to the Drury Inn I was afraid it was going to be podunk. It kinda smells old and the furniture in the common spaces is old, BUT the hospitality was incredible(in fact they left my son and daughter-in-law a congratulations note under their door because they had just found out they were expecting their first baby), the bed was super comfortable (although we found some hair on the bed spread), the breakfast was perfect! The swimming pool in this place is pretty cool too. I would probably stay here again if I needed to.

We spent 4 nights at this Drury in May 2013. The staff was outstanding with their hospitality and assistance during our stay. The check-in was fast and efficient. We arrived later in the evening. The front desk staff provided us with a map of the area and restaurant suggestions. The suggestions were excellent.

I had to get up extra early the next morning for a business meeting. The kitchen staff saw me getting coffee and they put out the food before the posted time, so that I could have breakfast. They ensured that I knew how to get to my meeting. My wife and son enjoyed their time at the indoor/outdoor pool. They stated that it was clean and well maintained.

The staff at the evening happy hour was extremely nice and helpful. The lady making beverages was fun to talk with and she gave great suggestions for activities to do with our son. The manager was highly visible, talking with guests and helping guests with their beverages and plates.

The room was clean and well maintained. The housekeeping staff made up our room several mornings while we were at breakfast. Our room was quiet even though we were next to an elevator.

My wife wanted to print out our boarding passes the day before our flight. The manager assisted her in printing out the passes using the hotel's business center.

When we woke on our final morning, we found a copy of our bill under the door along with a handwritten note from the manager thanking us for our visit. It was not a generic note, but a personalized one that wished us a safe flight home.

I like staying at Drury Inns when I am traveling, but this Drury was outstanding.

Visited for two nights April 20-21, 2013. This is your standard, suite-type hotel, but we had a regular room, not a suite. Facility and rooms were very clean, with an indoor pool and exercise room with treadmill, elliptical, and stationary pedaller. Also a bench and a nice full set of dumbbells. Flat panel TV in exercise room. I bit difficult to get to from the airport if you don't ask for directions in advance. The standout here was the cheerfulness and helpfulness of the staff. The complimentary breakfast had good variety and was tasty. A nice touch was the hostess who made your waffles for you and served them to you at your table, with syrup dispenser and butter pats. A small convenience store had mostly beverages and microwavable food items that you pay for at the front desk. Prices seemed about right. Beds were very comfy, with an overabundance of pillows. Lots of places to plug in rechargers. Nice flat panel T.V., and a good clock radio for those who might need it. I would definitely stay here again if on a budget.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the side of the hotel away from 1-45, for those with sensitive hearing.

Only spent one night. Construction inside the hotel going on. The indoor/outdoor pool was closed on the Saturday that we left. the free breakfast was iffy at best. Fresh fruit was not fresh and the sausage was "chunky". Yuck. The room itself was clean and the a/c was very cold. Nice. Half the parking on the side of the hotel was taken up by a construction trailer. I liked the location, close the the woodlands mall which was only 2 exits away. And there is a Target only one exit away. Overall safety, so-so. Didn't have a warm and fuzzy feeling walking to our room after dark. Don't know why, just didn't. Disappointed the pool was closed for maintenance the morning we left. Wanted to at least take a dip. Pool area was clean and the indoor/outdoor aspect would have been nice. The guy at the front desk must have been new. Took all my info and CC and then said enjoy your stay without giving me a room key.

Room Tip: back of the hotel is better for noise control.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We appreciate your feedback regarding our clean guest rooms and nicely working A/C units. We are sorry if there was confusion concerning our pool the day of your departure. The pool was open, but the hours each day is from 10am -10pm. In the mornings while there is maintenance work being performed on the pool, there is a sign stating it is closed, but is removed once the pool opens at 10am. We are sorry if we did not meet your expectations this time around - we strive to provide the best service to our guests and thank you for your comments.

We stayed at the Drury Inn at the end of March 2013 on buisness. We decided to try the hotel again because we were there back in 2009 and thought it was great. At that time, the place was clean, the staff friendly and the extras like free breakfast and food & drinks in the evening were a bonus. We also found our room to be quiet, but not this time around. Though the hotel is being renovated (which they really should let you know before you book), it was still clean, the staff very friendly but we got a suite that faced out towards the freeway. OMG! You wouldn't believe the noise that you hear. It's a constant roar. If you are a light sleeper like I am, then don't stay here unless you are guaranteed a room on the backside of the hotel.

My suggestion for the Drury Inn would be, since you are in the middle of renovations, replace all the outside windows with triple or quadruple panes. Use the ones that most European hotels use. That will knock down the noise considerably. Other than that, the hotel is well cared for, though it is old and a bit dated, it looks like they are making some improvements.

Room Tip: Get a room at the back of the hotel away from the freeway.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We apologize that you were not able to get a great night's sleep based on the location of your room. I hope that you gave us the opportunity to offer a room change to accommodate this problem. Please give us another opportunity to serve you. We can offer a room on a higher floor next time and toward the back of the hotel.

My car window was smashed in along with 2 other cars. They stole an empty wallet inside the console. The management suggested to take everything out of the vehicle so I guess the thieves walking around with flashlights will not break in. I'm disturbed by the fact that management accepts the fact that there are thieves walking around the hotel on their property and doesn't do anything about it. If these people are brave enough to smash window in cars they are brave enough to have a gun and rob an innocent person. I will not be staying at this hotel again.

Let us first apologize that you had a bad experience while in The Woodlands. Although car break-ins happen in any major city, they are not a typical occurrence for our location in an affluent suburb of Houston. Nonetheless, we still take extra safety precautions such as security gates, signs notifying our guests to not to leave their valuables in plain sight, enhanced parking lot lighting, and 24 hour on site staff. Due to these precautions, we encounter fewer issues than surrounding businesses. Again, thank you for your feedback which will help us continue to evaluate our safety/security procedures.

This hotel is located off of I-45 and is a short drive from shopping at The Woodlands. This hotel is is older than the others in this area, but it still compares. No issues with check in and parking. Their happy hour is a good perk. Breakfast is also good. My only complaint it the interstate noise and the walls are poorly insulated. If you are here on business, make sure that you are not placed near a noisy party. You can hear everything a guest is doing in the rooms beside yours; flushing toilets, blowing nose, talking etc. For the amount you pay, you are getting a good deal.
