“Great Concert Venue (Depending on the weather)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 December 2013

Great place to hear concerts - acoustics are awesome!

There IS a down-side, however. As Texas weather can be very hot, it can be miserable listening to a concert during the day and into the early evening. And obviously, if it rains, you WILL get soaked and the lawn seating area becomes muddy.

Best place, whether in the seats or my favorite -- on the ground, to watch a musical production of great bands, concerts and events!!!

“Great Music Experience”

Love going to The Pavilion. The Pavilion offers a wide range of events from the symphony to rock. Ticket prices vary for options of covered seating or lawn seating. If you are on the lawn bring a blanket to sit on or rent a lawn chair. Most concerts are in the evening, too hot for day concerts.

“A great venue (except in August)”

I do love going here. It is a beautiful venue and concerts are held rain or shine. It is pretty hot in August, however, even at night.

“Worst concert facilty in the coutry”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2013

After reading the positive reviews I have to wonder if they are members of the Chamber of Commerce for the Woodlands. Here's the unvarnished truth: It's unquestionably the worst concert facility in the country. Besides being located in the middle of a housing subdivision, nowhere close to anyone in the city of Houston except the Woodlands, it guarantees an hour or two just to get into or out of from the extremely packed and always under construction, dangerous I-45 freeway (I've NEVER gotten out in less than an hour). The parking close to the facility is almost zero. So most folks are street parking in unlighted areas with cars rushing by at 60+mph. Then you have to walk through unlit muddy woods seething with what seems like the world's entire mosquito population tearing at your flesh. Upon arriving at the "Pavillion", you discover it's outdoors. In Houston, that's just plain stupid. You sit there on soaking wet grass with ants, mosquitoes and gnats constantly biting you after stepping over all the "courteous" people who staked out "their area" with tarps, so you're having to be a limbo dancer to find anywhere to sit. The fortunate few who pay enough, get to sit under the canopy with all the broken fans, guaranteeing you will sweat to death. When it rains, the Pavilion people will tell you "tough luck" ... so either you sit on a wet, muddy hill in the rain and lighting or just forfeit your money.
The drink pricing is overpriced even by baseball or football standards. There aren't even half enough working bathrooms for the crowds. I've even seen people "doing their business" in the grassy areas and behind the food areas as a result. In short, the place is an utter disaster. I can only assume that the only reason the performers use it is because they probably get it for free. No matter who's performing there, it's not worth the time and money to risk it there. The place is an embarrassment to the city of Houston, and not representative of the quality of life in Houston.
