My partner and I booked this hotel not knowing what we were going to get. When we got to Tyler, we kept driving around where our hotel should have been, but we couldn't find it. There was only a run-down apartment complex there. As it turns out, that's the hotel. Check-in was not bad, and the lady behind the counter was nice enough. We found our apartment, opened the door, and said "hi" to the very shocked man who was already checked in to that room and relaxing. We went back to the front desk, and there was another guest in line in front of us who had been walked in on WHILE SHE WAS SLEEPING. Because someone else had been assigned to her room, her key no longer worked. The front desk lady was kind of put-off because she had to find us a new room now too. We got in the room, locked all of the deadbolts and got ready for a shower. There were stiff, dirty towels left in the bath tub, and there were lots of long, dark hairs in there, too. (We did have fresh towels, so that was good.) The next day, we took all of our stuff with us when we left for the day, and when we came back, our room keys no longer worked in our door. Remembering what had happened to the other guest the day before, we were thankful that all of our stuff was with us when a stranger apparently walked into our room while we were gone.

The bed was VERY comfortable, though, and they actually have fitted sheets on the mattresses, which I thought was nice. This hotel is very convenient to many area attractions and there are lots of local dining options. The rooms are really large and comfortable-if you don't mind strangers walking into your room, and you don't mind having to take previous guests' stiff, dirty towels out of the tub before you get in.

This stay was definitely in the top three worst hotel stays ever for me and my partner, and we have been on some wild adventures. I will NEVER return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Stay in a different hotel.

We were down in Tyler Texas for the Junior College Baseball World Series. We were visiting from New York. We stayed at the Hawthorn by complete chance and were greatly surprised by the hotel. The rooms were large, clean spacious. The staff was overly friendly, professional and accomodating. We even were able to invite the entire baseball team over to the pool area for a BBQ and swim. I highly recommend the Hawthone Suites if anyone ever is in Tyler, Texas.

Room Tip: Try to stay away from the pool area for a quieter experience if that's what you're looking f...

Qu bed suite was awesome, so much room! Pool, breakfast, social hr, maid svc all wonderful! never slept so good on their amazing beds! Fiance, daughter, and I want to move in and stay! Full kitchen and separate bedroom made it feel more like home, plus the two bathrooms really made a difference. Atmosphere was awesome, so nice sitting outside in the evening, trees kept things cool and shaded. Great job!

Our family was very disappointed! We did not get a room as we requested it needed to be. The staff at check-in was rude and not helpful at all. The room was old, and outdated and smelled stale. The breakfast was not that great at all. The place was dark and we didn't feel safe at all. Check out other hotels in Tyler that are much nicer before making a reservation here. There were holes in the carpet and holes in the couch. We will not ever stay here again or recommend it to anyone!!!!

Room Tip: Do not stay here!

This property was great! The staff was friendly and the room was super clean. An excellent place to stay at a great price. I booked through Priceline guaranteed price and had no problems with my reservation. I will absolutely stay here again.
