Description: Cafe Homestead serves deliciously healthful food in the unique setting of a traditional craft village in our sustainable, organic farming community. We offer grass-fed beef; fresh buns, bread and rolls baked daily from whole-grain flour by Artisan Oven; cheeses produced by our community’s internationally award-winning Brazos Valley Cheese company; and other fine foods, including our all-natural, delectable ice cream. Our fruit and vegetables are always fresh, and we strive to provide locally grown produce. Begun in 1994 as a small deli, Cafe Homestead has grown to become a restaurant serving over 45,000 guests a year and is widely known for its menu of traditional Texan, Mediterranean and specialty cuisines. Before or after enjoying a relaxing meal served by friendly people from our farm community, visit our craft shops, Gift Barn and Model Homestead and take a Hayride to our scenic overlook.

“Delicious!”

What a great find - thank you Trip Advisor! The grounds of the restaurant are breathtaking. The food was wonderful, and the staff was welcoming. Wished they would have had a broader menu between 3-6, and also wish they were open past 6. Wonderful place!

“Wholesome goodness”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

My friend and I were visiting this "pioneer style" farm and were there at the noon hour and decided to eat here. At first, we were told we would have a 30 min. wait, which we did not mind. We were touring toward the fiber arts studio when my friend received a text that our table was ready just a few minutes later! That was a pleasant surprise. The meal I had was called a "southwestern chicken salad." It filled my plate and was seasoned just right, full of homegrown salad goodies and a delicate dressing. I also had a homemade wheat roll. Wonderful service and delicious food! Our only regret...no room for dessert.

“No BBQ, no problem”
Reviewed 22 April 2014 via mobile

Everything was delicious even when there was no Texas bbq. The carrot cake was an excellent appetizer. Hey, we are on vacation rules! I had a turkey ranch wrap and fruit. I highly recommend that you leave the interstate and enjoy this experience. And it's healthy.

“Road Trip”

The Tomato Bisque Soup was from heaven! It was so delicious! There weren't a lot of vegetarian options but they did accommodate us and the Falafel was very good.

“Good food. Just kinda sterile. Not for me”
Reviewed 23 February 2014 via mobile

We were very excited to visit, had to wait an hour for a table, so we visited the other buildings, with pottery, woodworking, wrought iron. The furniture made here is incredible, really nice stuff.

As for the dining experience. The service was slow. The staff was just too polite and nice, they had no individuality or personality, too sterile for me, Stepford wife-ishly weird. The food was above average, the fresh made bread was great, the locally made cheese was not that special. The home made ice cream and peach cobbler were excellent.
