“Excellent food and value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 February 2013

I have eaten here several times, sometimes you have to wait but it is worth it. Pizzas are so good, bread is to die for. This is a regular stop when we come to Waco. It is a BYOB restaurant so no bar but hey much cheaper. They accomodated our large party when we made a reservation, not sure if they actually take them all the time. The value is great, we fed 12 people on $110. Not too many places you can say that.

“Very Good Local Italian Restaraunt”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 November 2012

If you're looking for some good Italian food with a local flair, definitely give Baris a shot. They have a very large menu with a variety of pasta dishes and a pretty decent pizza variety as well. We had a variety of different dishes amongst the group, from baked pastas, pizzas, and calzones. The pasta was excellent. Everybody said the pizza was pretty good, but not great.

The tiramisu (a must for a good Italian restaurant) left much to be desired. It was decent, but basically tasted like a spongy cake with whip cream.

Overall, if you want Italian, definitely give it a shot. I'd revisit.

“Don't go out of your way”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 September 2012

We decided to stop here on our way to Dallas with the hopes of finding a "hidden gem". Don't be misled by all of the rave reviews. It may be "the best in town;" since I am not from Waco, I cannot refute this statement. However the house special pizza we had was average and the service was slow. We came during the football game and it was not very busy. We watched our waitress surf on her cell phone while we waited for her to take our order, likewise while ready to pay our check.
The other thing I found off-putting about this place was the building. I’m okay with the “hole-in-the-wall” sort of place, but this was more than that. The dining room had a musty or mildew sent and the table we sat at was an old folding table that looked like it had been left out in the rain because particle board was warped and the veneer was removed in several places.
All and all, there are many better, and unique, choices in Waco.

“Great place to eat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2012

We liked everything about this place. Food was unbelivably good and the prices were like we had gone back in time.
$20 for a large salad which we split and two pasta entrees.
And it's BYOB fo we enjoyed a nice Chianti which we brought with us. Rosa our waitress was a well-polished server who made our visit that much more enjoyable.
We have stopped in Waco a lot to eat when travelling I35, and while this restaurant is not close to the highway it will be worth our while to go back again when passint thru.
