I don't know about you, but when we travel to a new area of the country, we are infinitely more interested in experiencing the local culture than the biggest, most well known attractions and tourists traps. Carlo's Beer Garden is one of those places where you feel that you're stepping into a local establishment and are lucky to enjoy the true and authentic neighborhood atmosphere, welcoming and friendly waitresses and just plain good food. We had "Texas toothpicks", Southwest egg rolls and awesome cheeseburgers. They serve beer by the glass or pitcher, wine, wine coolers and that type of thing and it's as simple as that. We had a great time, there was a beautiful breeze and a fan blew on us pleasantly as we enjoyed our drinks and lunch thoroughly. Highly recommend! A five star fine-dining experience it is not, but go - relax and enjoy a bit of local food and fun! (P.S. No A/C -- so don't got on an extremely hot day or you may be uncomfortable - but it was overcast and 82* with a breeze and fans and we were very comfortable.)
