The Falls in Lucy Park
Attraction details
Reviewed 7 November 2013

It is about 1 mile round trip. Easy walk with no steep inclines unless you walk to the top of the Falls. There are plenty of benches along the way to stop and sit. You are walking next to creek which looks like it is out of an old western movie. Lots of growth around the bank and muddy water but I liked it...more natural and untouched.

Beautiful park like setting with lighted walking paths. Great Kodak moment. Dogs are welcome. Be prepared to pick up after your pet.

I didn't go to see the falls, but my brother and his wife did. They took pictures and it was beautiful. We saw it from the interstate and decided to find the falls. The park itself was beautiful and worth a look-see! The ponds, ducks, geese and just the serenity of the park took away any stress you could have had. A really nice place to visit.

If a town is going to call itself Wichita FALLS, it seem appropriate to have some kind of falls somewhere. Located just northwest of the downtown district on I-44 coming into the city, this man-made waterfall is sort of ho-hum by now. Pumping water up from the Big Wichita River, the water over the falls more closely resembles weak "Friday Night Lights" hot chocolate than anything else. That's IF the falls are turned on, and there is a better than average chance it will not be due to low water level in the river.

This park is really pretty and the falls are something interesting to see. Since there aren't many "tourist" attractions in Wichita Falls, if you are in the area and it is a nice day, or early morning, I highly recommend checking them out. Makes for a cute photo op too! All of the trails are nicely paved, there are plenty of benches, and there are also picnic areas.
