“A clean, beautiful park.”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

The water IS deep! At the beginning there's a shallow part but soon it's too deep to touch. Watch your babies. The water was cold and clear and green. The river is so shady I never put on sunscreen. You can't float far, it's restricted. It gets crowded fast. Bring a picnic and stay the day but bring your own shade to the grassy park area. It's an hour drive and 9. Per adult but ill go again. All I did was tread water but I had a good time!

“Absolutely beautiful”
Reviewed 12 August 2014 via mobile

We went at about 3:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon in August and had no trouble parking or getting in. It was so pretty and very clean. Bring a blanket and picnic! The two rope swings are great. Wear water shoes because the bottom is rocky. The water was cold but so refreshing. We will be back. :)

“A Great Old Fashioned Swimming Hole”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

This is an old fashioned swimming hole. The area is very pretty and the swimming is in a natural part of the river - not too deep so it is very nice for little ones. The water is a little chilly and the bottom of the river bed is all rocky. These are natural sandstone rocks probably hundreds of years old that line the river bed. It is a must to wear swim shoes. It is also a little difficult to get into the water. There are no stairs or rails, you just have to kind of glide in on the rocks that go down to the water. There aren't many, but it could be sort of challenging for someone who is slightly disabled. There is a rope that swings over the river and then you let go and plop into the water. The young kids were really having a lot of fun with this. A grassy area by the river is good for picnics. The park is clean and well-taken care of by the State of Texas. There were clean rest rooms and places where you could change into your swimming clothes. People really had fun lazily sitting or floating on tubes. You can spend a very enjoyable day here with your family or just by yourself.

“Nice swim”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

We went for the afternoon. The water was cool and it was not too crowded. Price was ok even though Ginnie can remember when it was free. You can't travel too far up the river because it's private property. There's enough open grass where you can work on your tan. Pack a lunch and stay all day.
