“Great BBQ”
Reviewed 20 November 2012

The owner's grandmother started this business in Downtown Wimberly and he has done a good job of keeping it alive. The atmosphere is "Rustic Texan". The barbecue was outstanding! Potato Salad was a little dry - but the barbecue more than made up for it. They don't serve beer :(

“Underrated”
Reviewed 5 April 2012

There are several "legendary" BBQ's in the Hill country. That and the fact that most Texas guys are BBQ legends in their own minds make it hard for a 'just real good' local place to survive much less thrive. Miss Maes has very good food, pleasant folks serving you an unpretentious atmosphere and good prices. I am a Wimberley local and have come here 8 - 10 times a year and never been disappoined.

“Depends upon your viewpoint”
Reviewed 6 March 2012

The BBQ is pretty good, the sausage is not. The prices seem pretty high but that's so often the case in a small town. The choices for sides aren't great, but that's so often true of BBQ places, too.

“I enjoy the bar-b-que sandwiches and sometimes order the daily special.”
Reviewed 17 July 2011

When I go, there are always locals there who eat there often. There is counter service so getting food is quick.

“Locals won't eat here, either!”
Reviewed 4 January 2010

If you are a tourist and you want Bar-B-Q you absolutely must avoid this place. Locals don't eat here (I asked). The food is no-star and the owner was not so nice. Fact: the meat appears to be overcooked over a fire with little logs overnight. The bark is still on the logs and that is not so good. The fire has no temperature control obviously. Six months ago he instituted some sort of "Blue Plate Special" that doesn't even include bar-b-q. Gosh, I'm proud of Texas Bar-B-Q- if you're passing through or at Market Day pass this place by and go get a burger- there's a great place in town.
