“Best Place in Beaver to Stay”
Reviewed 22 April 2013

We always enjoy our stay at the Best Western Paradise. Entering the lobby we were cheerfully greeted by Becky, she is a real professional, and her baking Chocolate Chip cookies was a nice treat. I had a number of travel cards with small amounts reminding and I have in the past had problems at other BW's but not here! She patiently and cheerfully redeemed all these cards and was very helpful. The rooms are always clean and the beds comfortable. The parking lot is big so we have lots of room when we arrive with our trailer, great after a long day on the road.

We were very fortunate to meet the GM in the morning when we checked out. Once again, very friendly and a true professional. With someone like Pam in charge we can understand why this hotel is so nice. Thank you to all the staff for a great stay. Will be back in the fall on our treck down south.

We were pulling a 30+ foot trailer and had our dog with us. We needed easy access and this property worked perfectly for us. There was a big lot to circle with our big load. They had a nice room that was pet friendly. You could hear the upstairs guests. Facility was a little dated but fine for one night's stay.

We stayed over night while driving to Los Angeles. The hotel is just off of I-15 and is easy to find. We had reserved two rooms and they were able to give us adjacent rooms. The cleaning charge for our dogs was minimal. The sleeping area of the room was updated with modern bedding and decor. The bathroom was clean and in good repair however only the flooring had been updated.

Overall our stay was comfortable. The room was quiet, we only heard the occasional door closing on the 2nd floor and we did not hear our neighbors at all. I would definitely stay there again.

The "very good" aspect of this motel was the room that was exceptional and very clean, and the afternoon front desk person, Pam, was very helpful and friendly. Including the home made cookies that she brought out. There was construction going on but was not a problem getting into the front desk area.

Pam cleared up our reservation problem, not the fault of the Beaver Best Western Paradise Inn, in a very professional and timely manner.

Lobby under renovation. Odd odour in the room. Used tooth pick in the garbage can. Poor fitting door to the room. Used shopping bag in drawer. Our overall experience was not good. After driving a long distance, motorists require a clean comfortable room in order to get a good rest before hitting the road again the next day.

Room Tip: Check room before checking in.

This motel has some of the good, some of the bad, and too much of the no breakfast for my liking.

On the positive side the room was exceptional and very clean, and the afternoon front desk person, Pam, was friendly and helpful. OK, end of the good, sorry Best Western.

There was construction going on when I stayed there, with the columns by the front office being resurfaced with stone, which will eventually look quite nice, but in the meantime creates noise and distraction during the day. At night there is the constant bellowing of beer slugging construction workers who pack the rooms and upstairs hallways "hollerin" loud enough to make Animal House look tame. Grow up boys, there's such a thing as consideration.

By far the most annoying aspect was missing the "free" breakfast every morning because I had to start work early. Breakfast in a Best Western, while not a gourmet's delight is at least there in the morning, even if it's a brownish banana languishing in a bowl, which is part of the reason for staying there. This motel doesn't have the traditional breakfast room but gives vouchers for the restaurant next door that's supposed to open at 6:30 am, yeah right.

I stayed there for four days and usually left about the time the restaurant was supposed to open, but it was always dark when I drove away. One morning on the third day I was actually going to be able to stick around until 6:45 so was looking forward to grabbing something, even a piece of fruit for the road. The waitress opened the door at 6:35 with the restaurant still dark. She was very dramatic about opening the door and gave me a big sigh because I was standing there looking at my watch and getting nervous. I swear that when she turned around with her back to me she muttered [--], you fill in the blanks. She continued to ignore me as I stood in the the dark for a few minutes until I reluctantly asked her if I could get something to go. She sighed again and asked if I was from the motel and when I said yes she demanded to know if I wanted a #1. I didn't know what a #1 was but was beginning to feel like #2. Needless to say all I accomplished was wasting 15 minutes of my life while hoping to appease the rumbling in my stomach with no success.

Do yourself a favor Best Western and invest in a breakfast room for your customers rather than some fancy stonework.
