“First-class dinosaur movie memorabilia in an unexpected location”
Reviewed 13 September 2013

We heard about this museum from another family who were doing the Dinosaur Diamond while staying in Fruita, and the tip convinced us to stay in Blanding. What an excellent decision it was! The museum houses a vast collection of dinosaur movie memorabilia including many large and small models made by the founders. The displays include movie posters, models, early scientific monographs and other ephemera, telling the story behind the movies and charting the evolution of the dinosaur in the public imagination. It also includes an excellent display on the evolution of birds from dinosaurs, discussing the latest science - after about a year of intensive dinosaur education courtesy of my pre-schooler, I thought I was up on it all, but the museum had information I had not come across yet. If you are obsessed with dinosaurs, and dinosaur movies, this museum is a must-see. If you come, stay at the Stone Lizard Lodging.

“Great value for whole family!”
Reviewed 20 July 2013

Actually want to give this a 4.5! Even 13 years after I first visited (2000), this place is still a great value for a still-impressive and growing attraction, and it's in a place you wouldn't expect to find something like this. Sure, there are much bigger dino museums around the country, but this one offers a lot for what you pay to get in. Only cost me and my 3-member family $9 (we spent more on souvenirs than on admission). Spectacular, lifelike exhibits and lots of great info and extras that will please kids and adults, regardless of their level of interest in dinosaurs. The day we visited on this trip, the musuem had just opened a new wing with a gargantuan feathered dino model. You can get a pretty good look at most of the exhibits within an hour, or if you have time, you can spend half a day and explore it all in more detail. You'll have to wander off Hwy. 191 a short distance to get to it, but it's impossible to get lost in Blanding, so you can quickly find your way back to the main road after your visit. Plenty of parking and not too busy when we went. I'm so glad they're able to keep this terrific little museum going. It's a nice, unexpected bonus for southbounders before they leave the spectacular beauty of southern Utah.

“Unique Collection You Have To See”
Reviewed 12 July 2013

Having visited many dinosaur museums and exhibitions ranging from a small selection of tracks and fossils to a huge full scale multi- room exhibit, this museum rates right up there with the best of them. The museum director has built models for many films and his recently exhibited collection of colourfull large film posters has to be seen. The posters are part of his own personal collection and he also has many comics and other interesting pieces on display. There is plenty to see and a gift shop on site for some souvenirs.
If you are in the area or just passing through, give it a try. £3.50 adults and £2 children under 13.
A coffee shop would just finish the job nicely.

“Well worth the stop even from Moab”
Reviewed 1 July 2013 via mobile

The museum is not quite as fancy as some more modern installations, but it is more hands on and informative. It is on the smaller side, but if you take time to read all the material you can still be here for hours.

We have children aged 15, 12, 8, 4 and all but the 4 yr old can find lots to do. It's more a reading and looking style museum.

Plan to stop if you're in the area. And if you need a break from the heat up in Moab it is worth the trip down.
