They drew us in with a promise of clean restrooms, and they were!! If you're driving for these long stretches in the West, this is important! They've got real covered wagons and lots of history. A cute wall of pictures and stories of what the settlers went through. Worth a quick stop.

What an amazing place. Really tells the story of how Bluff came about and the hardship endured in getting there. Listening to the stories each cabin has to tell brings home the hard life in those early years. It’s free to get in but the gift shop has some really good souvenirs to buy which help support the ongoing up keep of the place.

We stopped in this town on a whim to take pictures of the fort. What we discovered is an old fort with history of the covered wagon train. They offered old pioneer clothes for dress up to take photos in.
A volunteer took photos wit out camera. This was all offered by donations only.
The little kids had a great time being dressed as cowboys with their own pistols.

This fort was much more interesting than I imagined before we arrived, it was full of real stories and aspects of life at that time. We wandered through the fort for an hour, and is well worth a visit to see what life was really like, not the movie sets.

The volunteer staff were very helpful from what to see and do in the area, to where best to eat. They not only talked about Blufff but also about other areas; Gooseneck worth a visit; Mexican Hat; Blanding; and Monument Valley which was disappointing.

PS: the ice cream is delicious and cheap
