“Clean, Family Run, Close to the Canyon - and Horseback Riding”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

Nothing too fancy here, but this place is reasonably priced, has a warm outdoor pool (and covered hot tub) and is really clean and well maintained by the family that has owned it for generations (the father and kids were sweeping the parking lot when we arrived). Wake up in the morning and smell the juniper and sage when you walk out of your room at this motel. Horseback riding is available for a reasonable fee. We took a 2 hour ride to Red Canyon with a guide whose great grandfather had carved the trails we were on. The Pines is 3 miles from Bryce Canyon and is right on scenic Highway 12 (surprisingly, neither traffic nor noise is a problem). The restaurant is also run by the family and has some of the best home made pie you will ever eat. They make their own excellent corned beef has for breakfast. Free cable and wifi. This place is a real find.

Could use a bit of updating but the rooms were clean. A little further from the park then we wanted but there aren't many options in Bryce. Staff was friendly, free coffee in the mornings, no fridge in the room wifi was spotty.

Stayed in one of the motel rooms near the main building (had a King bed and bathroom, no kitchen). The ladies at the check-in desk were friendly and helpful, and our room was clean. Hubby is tall, so the showerhead hit him mid-chest and there was a loud whine from the pipes when the shower was running, but the hot water was plentiful. Hubby also wasn't thrilled to have a footboard on the bed since he couldn't stretch out, and there was a small gap on the side of the window blinds that was a little disconcerting since people--if they happened to be outside our building, which was in a fairly private area--could probably have looked in. So the accommodations were a little more "rustic" than we're used to, but because of its proximity to stunning Bryce Canyon, The Pines worked okay for us. When I made the reservations a few months prior to our stay, I was told this was the only property in or near Bryce that had a room available. However, when we arrived in town around 3 PM on a Sunday, several other places indicated a Vacancy on their signs. After we spent time at the Canyon and returned back to the Pines, those places showed No Vacancy. The Canyon wasn't crowded when we were there; occasional rain and thunder/lightening may have kept some people away, but overall the weather was fine and we very much enjoyed our visit.

Stayed with my family at Bryce Canyon Pines for one night. The hotel staff was very welcoming and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable .The proximity to the park allowed us to go in late afternoon and then again in the morning without having too long a ride. The restaurant next door was amazing. Everyone fond something they liked. The soup and homemade pies were excellent!!!

It isn't too far from national park. The gas station is on property. Motel and restaraunt are just up the road. Restaurant was always busy but didn't get chance to try. The park is quiet at night except for road noise and coyotes howling. There were plenty of port a potty's and trash cans . Lots of dirt due to no grass so bring brush/dustpan. There is shade. No cooking grill though just hole in ground surrounded by rocks. Laundry closes early 7-7pm so we didn't get back from hiking in time to do laundry. 2 showers/sinks/toilets. It was a hike to get to so we usually drove up there. Wi-Fi didn't work at campsite.

Nice little place just a short drive from the park entrance. We stayed in one of the "cottages" which had a huge bed and a veranda for sitting out on. Check in was efficient and friendly. A bit pricey for what you get but there's a very limited amount of accommodation in this area so I guess that pushes prices up.

Located on hwy 12 about 5 minutes from the turnoff to Bryce park entrance. It looks a bit funky when you first pull up, but don't worry. We stayed in a smallish room close to the office with two double beds. The room was well kept and the beds were very comfortable. The pool area is nice. Our room did not have a coffee maker, fridge, or microwave, and the TV is old school. If you need those I think there are upgraded rooms. We got coffee in the office. We liked that the motel is out of Bryce City because of the crowds there. My six foot four son kept hitting his head on the shower ceiling, but it was fine for average sized people. The food at the restaurant is nothing fancy and a bit expensive, but probably the same or better than most in the area. The pie slices are huge and very good. We would definitely stay here again.
