Yes, we showed up in mid-June 2007 at Bryce Canyon without a reservation! Gigantic Ruby's Inn was full, along with others nearby. We could have had the last 2 double rooms for $90 each at Bryce Resort, a mile away from Ruby's, but we were after a bargain. We found it at Fosters Motel and Restaurant, another mile away on Rt. 12. For $44.95 double (AARP or AAA), we got 2 rooms in what appeared to be one of several pre-fab buildings. The rooms were clean and neat and PLAIN! Just what we wanted. We could hear our neighbors somewhat, and the beds were not very comfortable, but we put up with it for two nights to save money. My brother's room had no hot water the next morning, but they brought in a new water heater the same day, so he showered in the evening! The restaurant had a varied menu at reasonable prices, but nothing we had was especially noteworthy. Overall, we got the bargain we bargained for. And we got what we paid for, a modestly acceptable stay on the cheap.
