The best thing about this hotel besides the friendly staff, clean rooms, and pillow choices was the awesome cooked to your pleasure breakfast. We were greeted at the door and asked what we would like prepared from the kitchen to go with the selection of fruit, muffins, cereals, coffee, tea etc. Best breakfast I ever had at a hotel. Formally a Best Western and now privately owned, they go the extra mile to make your stay very comfortable. We arrived late and rang the buzzer at midnight and we were greeted by a very nice lady who did not seem at all put out by our late arrival. We will return here whenever in the area and since I love Southern Utah, I hope it is often. Carolyn H.

Stayed at the River Terrace Inn with 7 fellow rafters prior to doing Desolation Canyon. Booked 4 rooms months in advance. Reservations were exactly as requested, with all ground floor rooms next to each other. Rooms were extremely nice, spotless clean, and with great views out over the Green River. The grounds were perfect, with manicured flowerbeds, a nice lawn area, and chairs and benches for relaxing and watching the river. With an adjacent restaurant, this is THE only place to stay in Green River.

Room Tip: Request ground floor rooms....all rooms do face tr

What a surprise in Green River... Big rooms, very clean, renovated bathroom, great view of the river. Warm breakfast with quite a few options that are being prepared on the spot with a personal service. A mile from I-70, so if you need a place to stay this is the best place.
Stayed there before/in between/after my rafting trips and enjoyed it very much. Would definitely come back.
The restaurant next door is great too, ate there a couple of times.

We agree with the other good reviews, the hotel is very lovely and in a wonderful location next to the river. We had a large room with a patio facing the river. The kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. My only gripe is that if you are a shy person or don't care to make small talk, you might skip breakfast. My husband and older daughter went to breakfast earlier than my younger daughter and I. It was quieter when they were there, but when we went down it was getting busier. They do expect you to "share" tables. Now I know there are people who enjoy this and those that do not. We do not. My suggestion would be to have smaller tables on the patio that could be put together for larger groups instead of the 6-8 seaters they had. Also, move some of the furniture from the entrance to the lobby and put in tables and chairs for breakfast. I bet people rarely sit on those couches. I witnessed 2 couples, strangers to each other, having a VERY uncomfortable breakfast at the same table. Just because it's free doesn't mean you need to be uncomfortable!! The breakfast was tasty, but we stay in alot of hotels were free breakfast is served and we don't have to share a table. For instance, on the way home from Calif., we stayed at the Main Street Suites in Grand Junction CO and my husband said it was the best breakfast of the trip. It was free as well and they had bisquits and gravy etc. We did not have to share a table as they had plenty. I'm just saying, for the people who aren't extroverts--change the policy and get more tables!!

The other reviews are spot on. I don't normally write reviews, but I wanted this hotel to get its due.

Although a bit dated, the property is in great shape. The bathrooms have been updated, for instance. We were impressed by the size of the rooms. The river view was quite charming. The general touches show a loving ownership and makes for a relaxing visit. There are fountains on the property, hummingbird feeders on the deck, tasteful landscaping in the back, etc. The breakfast is a step beyond anything you get in the "free breakfast" categories at other hotels. The staff, as well, was both professional and just, well, nice. In a land of cookie cutter hotels, the River Terrace Inn is very refreshing. It's like a bed & breakfast morphed into a hotel.

The restaurant next door is nothing fancy, but fits the town nicely. The food is a middle of the road melange of ethnicities: sandwiches (hot and cold), steak, burrito, spaghetti, salad bar, etc. Our family ordered a chicken breast sandwich, avocado sandwich, noodles with butter, corndog with apple sauce, and the salad bar. All of it prepared just fine. As the restaurant sits on the main road and the Green River, too, the views out the window are interesting to adults and kids alike.

In an area where its 100 miles to the next service going west and 65 miles to the next service going east, who'd have thought the River Terrace Inn would be there?

River Terrace is perfect! The rooms were large, clean, pretty, comfy beds, all the amenities, big bathroom, pool & hot tub. It's on the lovely Green River with terraces and gardens to enjoy, restaurant next door, and a very good price. BUT THE BEST PART IS THE FREE BREAKFAST! It's the usual buffet PLUS a kitchen staff that prepares the best omelets, pancakes, etc EVER, and they even have grits for us southerners.

We were glad that we payed for the river front room on the 3rd floor with the balcony, thus no noise from above. The rooms were soundproof so the nearby highway did not keep us awake.

After one night at the River Terrace Inn we wished we could have stayed longer. The inn is set in beautifully landscaped gardens, complete with hummingbirds busy at feeders, and the Green River flowing past. We requested a second floor queen room facing the river, and were delighted with the view, our little balcony, and the huge size of our spotlessly clean suite.

The quality furniture was perhaps a little heavy and dated in style, but far superior to standard motel fare, and the seating area, microwave, fridge, work station and additional vanity sink added to the comfort. The pillow-top queen bed was comfortable, and the clean and spacious bathroom was finished with granite.

There are no elevators, smoking is prohibited, and there is ample free guest parking. In the lobby is a computer with free internet for hotel guests, and also a welcoming pitcher of ice cold water flavored with fresh citrus.

On check-in the friendly receptionist gave us breakfast vouchers, and next morning the chef greeted us, took orders for cooked food from a huge selection, and delivered it to us within a few minutes. We were amazed by this service, which was in addition to all the selections at the great continental breakfast bar.

There is no restaurant or coffee shop on site, but next door is the Tamarisk restaurant which we visited for dinner.

For our rate of $89.96 (plus tax), with such comfort and an amazing breakfast, we felt we really got value for money and hope we can stay there again someday.
