“What a great place to stay!”
Reviewed 21 June 2009

This was no doubt the best hotel on our holiday in the US. We had a room overlooking the river and the view was fantastic. The pool and hot tub were great and immaculately clean. This hotel has everything you need for a perfect stay, pity we were only staying the one night.

I stayed at the River Terrace for a night on a trip from Moab to Bryce. It is a value compared to the prices of similar motels in Moab. The rooms are large, and a bit dated in their decor. They are large and the beds are comfortable. I have stayed at this hotel many times, and little has been done for the past 20 years to up date the rooms. That being said, it is still a comfortable place to stay and a great value. They have a wonderful restaurant attached to the hotel with a great view of the Green River and with great food. It is a big selection of items that include many local favorites. The hotel also offers a cook to order breakfast. Next to the hotel's reasonable price, is its great location on the Green River. The room balconies look out over the river that was flowing quite full at this time of year. You will be surprised that a little town like Green River would have such a nice hotel for a good price.

We booked a "2 bedroom suite" which turned out to be nothing more than a single and double room adjoined. Dated décor (see photos). Funniest was 1960 era hair dryer. Old fridge and microwave in room. Fridge did not keep food and milk cold overnight, so had to throw out. Toiletries limited to Pantene 2-in1 shampoo and Vaseline lotion. Wi-fi slow and we gave up on it. Loud hall fountain we could hear in our room. Breakfast was best part of stay. Given vouchers for breakfast. Breakfast room very small with only 4 tables inside. More available outside, but even with heaters too cold to sit comfortably. Come early. Food cooked in kitchen includes pancakes, eggs, grits, and French toast. Buffet has cereal, sausage, hash browns, yogurt, bananas, juice and hot beverages. Kids under 12 cannot be at the buffet (even with parental supervision). If coming to area for Arches, we would not stay here again. Rather, would choose to lodge in Moab, cute town 3 miles from the national park will good resturants (we enjoyed Pasta Jay's on Main St) and shops.

This hotel was clean and comfortable and the included breakfast was great (they cook hot food to your order). As a town Green River is really just a highway stop with nothing to see. If you need an overnight accommodation while travelling through the area then I'd recommend the Best Western in Green River. If you're looking for a holiday destination and wanting to explore Arches and Canyonlands, I'd look for something in Moab instead.

It's a Best Western, but a very good one. Clean and comfy and ask for the river view (not much, but appreciated). This was a relief after staying at the place in Cedar City. The value was exceptional. I believe we paid $90 or so and it was well worth every penny. The highlight was breakfast! I have never stayed in a mid-level chain and had such a perfect breakfast. They prepared everything fresh and the selection was top notch as was the service; completely unexpected. My only quam was with the fella at checkout. He was a scrooge, but with little interaction, who cares. Good place and I highly recommend.

We, a party of four, spent one night here in mid-September, 2008, when driving east along I70. Check-in was quick and efficient, and the two rooms we were allocated were very large and comfortable. They opened out onto a terrace above the Green River. It was nice to relax a while in the outdoor pool/spa. A very good hot breakfast was available the next morning.
The restaurant next door was disappointing. We went there for dinner and, after having to wait in line for about 30 mins, we were allocated a small ‘booth’ style diner table that was barely large enough for our four main courses. When it came, the food was disappointingly average.

This hotel deserves a more complete review, but I forgot to write one at the time and fine details have slipped from my memory. Still, the place left an impression and I didn't want to leave this review unwritten, so it will be brief. I've been to Green River many times, I've stayed at many hotels, and after staying here I can't imagine ever staying anywhere else. I am not a breakfast person, and this place is worth it for the breakfast alone. When it comes time to find dinner in Green River you'll wish the kitchen here was still open. We had a room facing the river, and it was nice, I would recommend that. My wife had to do some work a couple days and the internet connection was able to keep up. Beyond this . . . read the other reviews for more details. All I know is that this is where we'll be staying the next time we're in Green River.
