Xetava is truly a diamond in the rough. No other restaurant in the area compares. The food is amazing and the setting is breathtaking. I make a point to eat at Xetava every time I'm in St. George. The service is spectacular and the food is delicious. Perhaps a bit spendier than other local options, but you are truly getting what you pay for here. The meals are made with high quality ingredients and prepared professionally. They have a lovely selection of wines and beer, and serve Cafe Ibis specialty roasted coffees (yum)! The staff is warm, and accommodating, and you truly cannot beat the scenery! Xetava is a fantastic little restaurant nestled under a gorgeous red rock plateau, and is bound to be the dining highlight of your trip!

“It's good but is it worth the hassle?”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

We've eaten here several times, my wife loves this place. Just be prepared to wait for a table, wait for your drinks and to wait for your food! On more than one occasion there has been almost no one seated and we've had to wait up to 30 minutes.

On the day after Thanksgiving there was one table being served outside and we were told there was a 30 minute wait! Finally seated the drink order was taken, 15 minutes later the drinks appeared! Food order taken but...they were out of steak and chicken breasts, two of their staples on the menu! This was for a late lunch, not dinner.

Undoubtedly, I'll be back here but we're going to try calling on the way. It's usually after hiking and I want to sit and have a cold drink! Not be asked to give a phone # so they can tell me when my 30 minute wait is over!

Thanks for stopping by and writing a review. The reason there was a 30 minute wait for a table was because we were full inside and it was a cold day, so we weren't serving outside. The people that were out there were either just having drinks or ordered food to go and decided to sit outside.

The reason we ask for a phone number is so you can wander around the art village and enjoy yourself instead of waiting by the counter.

We make everything to order, so our food takes time to prepare, especially on the day after a holiday when a lot of big groups come in.

The reason we ran out of some food that day was because our food delivery normally comes on Thursday, but didn't because of the holiday, and arrived late on Friday. My apologies that we didn't have what you wanted.

Thanks again for writing, and hope to see you again.

“Excellent dining in the desert”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

This is a charming suprise in the desert around Ivins. Have been there a few times now. The food is excellent and setting absolutely lovely--eat outside if you can. The kitchen is small, so they are picky about reservations for dinner. It is not cheap, but worth it. The wines and beer offered are quite good as well. Lunch is also very worth it. Best restaurant in the area

“Been trying for a year to get here - worth the wait”
Reviewed 31 October 2013

My girlfriend and I have been trying to have date night here for almost a year now after movinv to the area. We had a wonderful meal. Only one slight glitch...the menu was printed with a section called"Grill" that started with Lamb etc - Entrees off the grill right?....we chose the last to - Marsalla and another - turns out they were sandwishes....while being rather tasty not what we expected. Brought it to the attention of the waitress - was acknowledged as a type o in the description - was rewarded with two tasty desserts - i am a chef and some of the best bread pudding i have ever tasted - made with crossiants!!! great idea. We will return many times might just ask some more questions :)

Thanks for stopping in and taking the time to write a review. The sandwiches you are referring to are 1/2 pound burgers made with locally raised, grass fed beef. You are correct, though, the menu was clear, and has been updated.

We look forward to seeing you again.

“Nice location, slooowwww service”
Reviewed 25 October 2013

Food was quite good, but we didn't have 30 mins to wait for a sandwich in mid afternoon! Washrooms are "around the corner" which was a little odd. I had veggie ciabatta and my father had the daily soup. Both very tasty.

Thanks for coming and trying us out. Glad you like the food. A few things.

The bathrooms are behind the art gallery which is twenty feet away from us. When we bought the building we are in, it was a gift shop, so when we converted it, there was nowhere to put a bathroom that wouldn't have a table right next to it, which would be awkward.

We will be doing a renovation to the patio hopefully sometime in the next year, which will include lighting, heating, misting, and restrooms.

As for the wait, good food takes time to make, and when we're busy, there is only so much food we can cook at one time. Our place is designed to relax, get away from the bustle of strip malls and chain restaurants, allow you time to enjoy your food and your company, as well as to give you excellent food that is prepared when you order it, not ever before.

Hope to see you again.
