Went to Red Mountain Resort for the first time with my significant other for a three night stay in May 2017. Had beautiful weather, not cold, not too hot. Meals were consistently great, breakfast, lunch and dinner. First night got to experience a thunderstorm inn the desert. Unfortunately, we were not able to go on the moonlight walk in Snow Canyon. Went on the explorer walk the next day and go to experience Snow Canyon with clouds. Loved the cooking class including sampling the 3 course meal. Got to learn about the Mustangs in the afternoon including getting them to accept your leadership. We didn't know that they were brought by the Spaniards from North Africa to the southwest. Went cliff rappelling in the Mohave Desert for the first time. Learned that you are required to go down each time and then find a way back up. Didn't think a 65 year old would enjoy doing this. Went to Zion National Park the next day. Each day in Zion can be a completely different experience. Went to Echo Canyon, Emerald Pools and walk near the visitor center. In evening, went on walk in Snow Canyon and went into large lava tube. Incredible coming out and seeing the bats searching for insects. Next day went on two separate walks looks at Native American Art. Afternoon walk was a solo walk and learned much from the many lectures by Dr. Boma Johnson...More
