Savage Point is a warm hospitable bed & breakfast. They offer a very pleasant room, very comfortable bed and a healthy breakfast. Back to Basics is the original idea of a B & B.
A family offering a comfortable clean and friendly place to stay. Not a large operation but a home that welcomes visitors. Both Laurel and Russell are eager to share information about the area. They seemed to really enjoy having guest/friends in their home. Our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Savage Point is well worth a visit.

We have been traveling in the U.S on a road trip since mid-October, from California Eastwards through Yosemite and across Arizona and we have stayed in many places, often for just one night - Savage Point bed & breakfast has been the best resting place of our entire stay so far. The moment we arrived we extended our stay! Laurel and her husband Russell open their home to their guests, it is inviting warm, comfortable and cozy. Breakfast is wonderful with fruit and home-made conserves, advice about hikes through Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park proved invaluable, suggestions as to where to eat in Kanab were helpful and the chat generally was informative, companionable and fun! Snuffles, the most welcoming terrier ever was a joy. We cannot praise Savage Point enough and recommend it unreservedly - if you are visiting the area this is THE place to stay!

I do trust TripAdvisor reviews but I could hardly believe the great ones for Savage Point B&B, yet our four day stay couldn't have been better. The hearty, home cooked, healthy breakfasts served us well while we hiked the wonderland around Kanab. Laurel and Russell were generous in sharing maps, guidebooks and advice as we chose what to explore. Our bedroom/bath were comfortable, clean, inviting, quiet, private and restful. Any need we had was instantly met by the hosts. Travelers should be glad of people like them who open their homes to us. I give Savage Point B&B the highest rating, entirely without reservation.

It was amazing staying with Laurel and Russell. They made us feel very welcome from the first moment we entered their home. It was really, really great. We had the privacy we needed and whenever we felt we wanted to chat or needed an advice, we could just ask them. We even had the Chance to spend some time together which really felt like spending time with friends. As soon as we have the time, we will definitely come back!
Thanks a lot, you two!

This is the ideal place to stay for anyone visiting the national parks in Southern Utah - especially Zion and Bryce Canyons. Laurel and Russell were warm and welcoming and couldn't do enough to help and advise me on interesting places to visit and places to eat etc. Breakfasts were excellent and the whole experience was memorable and enjoyable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Savage Point to anyone visiting the area.

This is a great place to stay if you're visiting Zion and Bryce - Kanab is right between the two, so you'll minimize your traveling time (and most of it will be through beautiful scenic routes anyway.)

Laurel is a fantastic host, and she and her husband went out of their way several times to help us plan our trip. On our last morning there, they charted out an awesome itinerary for us into Arizona, through a place called Lee's Ferry - we never would've known to go there otherwise, and it was one of the highlights of our trip.

Like some other reviewers wrote, we were initially a little surprised that the room was right in the house, but it quickly became apparent that it wouldn't be a problem at all - it was actually a benefit, because we really enjoyed hanging out with Laurel in the mornings. Our stay felt very friendly and home-like, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed, personable stay.
