The grounds of the Homestead are F...U...N. Besides a small pool and hot tub, there is so much to do. They have a fun golf course with amazing views, tennis courts, horseback riding and great trails adjacent to property that will put you into the beautiful mountains. They even have a crater (yes you read that correctly) that you enter via a rock tunnel that has a deep warm spring water "pool" in. It's 90 degrees or so and you can even scuba dive in it or simply swim. The hotel itself is very family oriented or you can request a room for a honeymoon. Very versatile. No two rooms are alike. This is not a cookie cutter experience. It is a great place to relax at the base of mountains and is truly a great country style, spread out hotel. Fun for families with active kids to run crazy in a safe comfortable setting.

In December I brought my husband here for his birthday and had such a great time, we came back again in March. Even though we live only about an hour away, we love the weekend getaways. In December we went to Soldier Hollow to snowshoe and this time we went back to Soldier Hollow to go tubing.

The rooms at the Homestead are all very different and very quaint. We stayed in a studio type apartment that was cozy and clean. The bathtub was gigantic!!! They had bath balls and bubble bath to use. The shower was also large and had beautiful tile work throughout.

The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. We slept great and woke up feeling well rested. My husband has a bad back, and to find a bed that he likes is not an easy task!

The tv was large and the couch in front of it was comfortable also. We enjoyed the gas fireplace and had it on while we thawed out.

We ate in town, but wanted some drinks before bed. We went to Simons and were seated at the bar. We ordered drinks, but were told we needed to order food (Utah law) in addition to the drinks. At the front of the restaurant they had a sign that said if we "checked in" on FaceBook that we could get a free slice of pie. That was easy enough, and worked well! Our hostess Cass recommended the cherry pie, and it was AWESOME! The entire staff was pleasant and were having a great time.

In the morning we went back to Simons and had the complimentary continental breakfast. It was very basic: bagels, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit and some pastries. Cass was there again and was great. I don't remember a lot of hostesses names, but Cass made a great impression on us, and was great at her job.

The Homestead is a beautiful resort, in a beautiful city and I have never had a bad experience here.

We went to Homestead for a Valentines get-a-way. The staff was wonderful and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. A place that we will be sure to visit again summer and winter, next time with the kids.

Room Tip: Older but well taken care of rooms.

Just letting people know this review is only for people working at the front desk, activity center and inside the crater. I am visiting from Europe and I have been all around in Europe and Americas, but never seen this rude, unfriendly staff in my life before. I never have high expectations during my trips but I could at least expect a friendly smiling staff when I am paying 18 $ for 40 minute bath in a crater. Saying it again, I had no experience with the rooms and other staff here but just because of rude staff in activity center, front desk and crater I will probably never stay here, I will prefer to stay in their sister hotel Zermatt. Hotel managers really need to teach these people how to be professional so then they won't need to put deals on websites to attract more people.

We stayed here when your daughter's film was premiering at Slamdance. The room was spacious and every room has its own porch. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to experience the geothermal mineral pool or snowshoe. The shuttle to Park City for the festival was a big plus. We enjoyed Heber City.

Charming, with plenty of fun. This is a unique resort with lots of local history, with a warm-water crater that you have to see to believe. Comfortable accomidations! Fun for the whole family, year round. Snowshoeing on the golf course, and then warming up in a hot tub while snow falls around you. My 3-year-old had as much fun as we did.

Our stay exceeded our expectations. Firstly, we were upgraded to a larger cottage which contained everything we needed and more. Secondly, the dining was excellent at Simons where we had a 'home cooked' dinner and a great continental breakfast the next day (breakfast is free to all guests which is a bonus). Staff and waiters were friendly and professional. This is a place to return to year after year for a family get-away.
Just a warning about the Crater, which is a thermal swimming pool on site but run by different management. The staff at the Crater are exceptionally rude and berating. I have since read other reviews of the Crater and it seems that we are not the only ones to experience being yelled at and humiliated publicly for misunderstanding what 'free diving' means. The Crater management should learn about basic customer service from the Homestead Resort staff - the professionalism and service is like chalk and cheese when comparing the two.

Room Tip: The cottages are of a generous size and seem like a house away from home. Excellent for families or...
