“They have really cleaned up, great value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2010

Needed some place to stay while driving to California. I had stayed here back in 2006 and wasn't impressed. This time they really seemed to have gotten it together. Room was basic but clean. Front desk staff were very helpful, and knowledgeable. Housekeeper made sure I had everything I needed. Manager was very helpful in getting me help with a small car problem. Will definitely stay on my way back.

Stayed here in July '06 while on a cross country trip from New York to Seattle. I was in college at the time and on a budget which meant I wanted to do the trip as quickly as possible (4 days) and was looking to stay at the cheapest places around. My first impressions of the motel when I walked into the lobby was that it was a little dirty. The lobby was small, the vending machine was out of order and it may not have been air conditioned. The room itself was clean though, large and definitely to my liking. The motel is in a semi-residential area. The homes looked a little run down and I was a little worried about my car since I was traveling with a lot of possessions. Washington Blvd, is a well-travelled thoroughfare with lots of places to eat nearby. I got some pizza hut, kicked back in the room, watched Carl Edwards win the Busch race at Gateway on TV, and had a good night's rest. This motel served its purpose well for me. It was a cheap, comfortable place to stay overnight while traveling in a part of the country I had never been to before.

We stayed here on a 4 night ski trip to Powder Mountain / Snowbasin. On the plus side the location is central to restaurants, mini marts etc. the price is good and the room was quiet.
Everything else left room for improvement, our non-smoking room stank of smoke, the carpeting was dirty, the TV had very poor reception, the toilet was blocked when we arrived and we had to plunge it out ourselves, after getting a plunger from the front desk. The bathroom vent was hanging out of the wall and the shower head leaked spraying water all over the bathroom.
The front desk person was clueless about local information other than the location of the local Walmart.
They charged my credit card for the full stay when we checked in, which effectively prevented me from leaving after the first night.

We just needed an inexpensive place to stay the night before the Ogden marathon, and this seemed as good a candidate as any. The location is good, in that it is right downtown. That was the only plus to this place, though.

Well unfortunately, it was a total dive. What do you expect when you go cheap? But really. That doesn't mean it should have a filthy toilet, barking dogs, people stomping around all hours of the night, and smell strongly of cigarette smoke. Yes, it was a "non-smoking" room, but it was in the same hall as smoking rooms. The smoke was strong enough that the stuff I packed in my suitcase, which stayed unused in my suitcase all night, still smelled like ciggies when I got home.

There were also some shady people that I ran into the hall that... well, let's just say I strongly suspect one woman was employed in the oldest profession, as they call it. This does just seem like the sort of cheap place people would use for such activity.

My infant son (who has never before had a problem sleeping away from home) found this place very upsetting (probably mostly the noise and the smell). He wouldn't sleep in the playpen we brought, so he had to get into bed with us. He thrashed around and didn't sleep well at all, hence my husband only got about an hour of sleep, which is not the way to start off a marathon! Luckily the sleep deprivation didn't seem to affect his running time, but we will DEFINITELY not be going back to this place again!

AVOID this place!

this place had very low prices, good service, nice front desk people who wer helpful with questions about local shopping, etc. there is a grocery store 2 blocks away with good prices. i asked for a room in the back of the motel to avoid street noise, and asked for a room facing south so i had a beautiful view of the mountains. walls were a little thin, otherwise i liked everything about this motel. good location for local hiking.
