“great hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2013

This hotel is top notch, but surprisingly affordable. The hotel staff cheerfully accommodated our family. The location is in an area that has been revitalized and made attractive. It feels safe to walk to nearby shops and a great fun center with bowling, I-fly, and rock climbing. The hotel lives up to the expectations I have when I choose a Marriott. We stayed there in Downtown Ogden because it was centrally located for our family reunion. Nothing overpriced. Parking was a little scarce, but the hotel provided vouchers and there was overflow parking across the side street. It was great for a family reunion.

The rooms are super clean. And you can't beat the staff, they are so welcoming. The FREE breakfast is amazing, so many different choices, I could eat this breakfast everyday. I loved the building scruture, very old looking but the inside is so modern looking.

Thank you, we want everyone to feel like this is a home away from home, and we are pleased you enjoyed our breakfast. Our building is 100 years old and on the National Historic Register, we are very proud to work in such an amazing building, our renovation has updated the interior of the building making it very modern.

This is an older building in downtown Ogden, but you would never know it on the inside! The lobby is gorgeous and the rooms are very nicely done with modern amenities. The location cannot be beat in downtown Ogden. The hotel is directly across the street from The Junction, a large "entertainment complex" with a very nice movie theater, lots of dining options, and even indoor skydiving and surfing at the Solomon Center! There is an outdoor amphitheater one block to the south where regular activities are held throughout the summer. We took our kids for a simple one night away and we had a blast. The price is great. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will stay here again soon.

Excellent room in a quaint area of Ogden, Utah. Beautifully restored historic building with a contemporary twist. We had an interior room on the 7th floor without a view, but the fantastic room more than made up for it. Breakfast was in a beautiful lounge near the lobby. Restaurants could easily be walked to and parking was in a secured lot. Great service. Seemed like first class hotel. Great value!

I stayed here last week for a a conference that was right next door at the Eccles Conference Center. So for me, having the hotel right next door was very convenient. (The hotel actually shares doors with the conference center so you just walk from one building to the next without having to go outside).

Even though there was construction and the front desk staff had to work at a tiny little podium that was placed near the elevator, check-in was swift and they were courteous. The parking garage is not connected to the hotel, so you will have to make the trek around the block and then walk back down and around to get back to the hotel. That being said, the garage seemed like the safer place to park your car here at night.

The updates to the hotel and rooms were pleasant. My room was a standard suite on the top floor, level 8, and the window faced north/northwest- not much of a view unless you like building roof-tops and church steeples. But the windows and ceilings were high and thus there was a lot of natural light in the room which was nice. The seating is tight- tucked away in a corner, see the pics. I would not recommend more than 2 people in this room; if you are traveling as a family of 3 then you may be happier with the junior suite that offers a bit more room and a separate seating/couch area. As a solo traveler this room was fine.

You could hear a little bit of traffic from outside, and once in awhile the bell from the elevator, but otherwise it was fairly quiet from exterior noise. In terms of inside noise, there is a bit of a hum when the ac unit goes on and off throughout the night. It was enough in fact that I shut off the unit entirely so I could get through the night. Otherwise, there were no problems with the room.

The bathroom was very spacious and clean, the tub was shorter such as you would find in many places throughout Europe. Lighting was sufficient. Water pressure was fine. Standard hotel soaps of the glycerin variety are provided so if you are picky then you may want to bring your own.

The bed was comfortable to me, pillows were newer and not too clumpy or too stiff. The sheets were a higher thread count so that was a bonus. The duvet cover is replaced after each stay and this is very much appreciated.

Wifi was free and seemed to work fine, though you did have to re-enter your room information after each 24 hours. I did not eat breakfast at the hotel.

In spite of a major ongoing construction project to expand and improve the lobby, the temporary setup is adequate. The hotel staff are excellent. It is a good central location in downtown Ogden. A good, safe place to stay

Not a bad Hampton, but I've been in better. Had requested through Hilton Honors a facility near the freeway, but this one was in the middle of downtown Ogden. Facility is a converted downtown hotel, crammed in the middle of the business district, good for some, I guess. Breakfast was mediocre, no inspiration.

Thank you for your time in posting a review of our hotel. In hospitality, guest feedback is a very valuable indicator of performance, and we strive to provide you friendly service in a great hotel. We apologize that you were not given a property near the freeway, our complimentary breakfast is a buffet style with items that are changed every day, we are sorry that you did not enjoy the offering the day you were here. Again thank you for staying with us.
