“Basic food at a fabulous Ogden Canyon location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 January 2013

The food is basic. But the outdoor seating is spectacular. I love their 'yard,' nestled among oak trees and giant planters full of lilies. The seating is literally right next to the Ogden River. The sound of the water makes a good hamburger into a great one. Very nice hangout with family or friends. You can also just stop in for ice cream or a shake and sit out on the patio by the river while you snack.

“Laid back atmosphere”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 December 2012

We make a point to stop by here on our way back to Ogden from the mountain. It's never been overly busy the two times we've eaten there (off peak hours.) The food has been good, the people friendly and the atmosphere relaxing. The service might have been a little slow if I'd been in a rush, but I wasn't.The place it self rambles on a bit. We've never been in warm weather, but there is a patio next to the river is just behind the place. There are some strange rules on alcohol in Utah and the place was constructing a hidden "alcohol" room to be able to serve liquor. They had "playdoh" ice cream available on our last visit, my son, 9, thought that was cool.. If you're looking for a nice place to grab a bight after a day on the slopes, look no further than the Oaks.

“Best Breakfast Around”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 November 2012

The Oaks is a weekend tradition for our Sunday breakfast before skiing or after mountain biking. The scenery can not be beat, the owners are passionate about the community, and the canyon cakes, juevos and omelets are fabulous. Don't miss this if in the area. Weekends in the summer can have long waits so get there early!

“There's nothing like the "Oak Burger"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 November 2012

The Oaks is a great place to go for a burger, especially when the weather is nice outside. In fact, I tend to only go when outdoor seating is available. Each outdoor table is quietly nestled close to an active stream, and somewhat private.

The Oak Burger is a double cheeseburger with Canadian Bacon. Yes! Skip the onion ring upgrade though - it comes with chips, and going for the rings will tack on an extra few bucks for about 5 onion rings.

This restaurant is a great destination if you're on a mountain drive!

“The Oaks - lunch by the river”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2012

While driving Ogden Canyon in Utah, we stopped for lunch at The Oaks, and we're so glad we did. Out table was under an outdoor shelter next to the river and was a wonderful setting for lunch. The food was great and enjoyed by all.

Just a note, we found this is a popular place so don't be surprised if you have to wait. We visited a second time and had about a 30 minute wait. But it was so worth it.
