“bait and switch?”
Reviewed 26 August 2012

The room itself, though way overpriced, was clean but quite average. I understand hiking rates in places near a national park during the summer, but I don't appreciate raising the rate when you arrive with your guaranteed-rate reservation in hand. The manager of Marianna Inn told us that our reservation was there but was, I guess, left untended because it was through a 3rd party (expedia, I recollect). The manager said she would put us in a remodeled $125 per night room for $105.She also said there was no vacancy that night and we knew this to be true for her place and every other motel in this tiny town. She stubbornly refused to accept the $95 guaranteed rate, nor would she apply the usual AAA discount. Is this review about the $10? Hardly. It's about the expectation of a proprietor to honor the reservation. I recommend looking elsewhere if possible.

Room Tip: Make your reservation early--at least two weeks ahead in the summer around Panguitch--and call any i...

We stayed in this hotel while visiting the local national parks. We paid for two nights, due to unclean room, room condition, and stench we checked out the next day. The hotel room was disgusting. The furniture was chipped, bathroom piping exposed, musty room smell, no pad on the mattress, dirty room, stained carpet, unclean sheets, dirty walls, run down, and my list could continue. This room was by far the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. Avoid this place at all costs. The front desk was very unfriendly. Big thumbs down!

I over heard the owner telling the maid staff to flip the sheets and reuse bedding, bath supplies and ect. the rooms in front are very run down and in desperate need of painting and over all renovations. One the guest in the back portion of the motel said the rooms had a very odd smell regardless of how nice it looked it was still an unpleasant stay do to odors. I also would have to agree on the odor in the room I stayed in as well smelt very much like dirty feet! The bedding was full of hair form the previous guest.

Room Tip: You are better off staying in ceder city or at ruby's inn!!

We wound up in Panguitch due to a mixup on our reservations in Bryce. Although it is not the Ritz Carlton, The owners were friendly, the property was clean, and the price is quite reasonable for what you get. Like many small properties, they do the best they can with the money they have. If you are looking for 5 star service in a small town, you should ride on..... but, I would recommend this motel as the room was clean, shower had adequate pressure, a nice restaurant for what it is was right across the street, and it was quiet. For a one night stay I would stay there again, it did the trick for price and a place to hang my hat for the night.

We stopped in at this motel on our way home from Mesa AZ. Because it's off season and we have a small dog, there wasn't much choice in this small town. Everything pretty much shuts down at about 8:00 p.m. After checking out a couple of other places that didn't allow pets (I don't know why, they certainly weren't first class places), we stayed at this place. Although the front desk person was very nice and friendly, the place was much less than expected. No fridge, no microwave, very minimal. I even had to go to the office to get some toilet paper! The room was VERY cold when we first entered and we had to turn on the VERY noisy heater so we wouldn't freeze (Panguitch is at 7000 ft., so it's cold in March...there were big sheets of ice outside our door). If we take this route again, I would avoid staying in Panguitch. There didn't seem to be any nice motels there.

Room Tip: Maybe this place would be OK in summer, but in the off season...avoid!

My sister and I stayed here on our way to Bryce Canyon. It was a bit more expensive than we had expected so we hesitated but she offered us one of the new rooms in the back. They were very cute and had a pretty wooden porch with double wooden swings. It was so quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed sitting out there. The view was stark but pretty and relaxing with the setting sun. Being from the East we loved it. Everything was clean and neat. Not much in the town so we grabbed some food from the little grocery store and a pizza from the little pizza joint and ate back at our room. The room had a fridge and microwave but the ice machine outside was broken. We enjoyed our night there and would stay again if we were passing through.

Room Tip: Ask for the new rooms out back.

3 of us stayed in one of the larger rooms. It was large enough to accomodate us and all our stuff. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet with a micro and frig. It was a ways from Bryce Canyon, which made it much more affordable. The staff was very friendly and supplied us with all our needs. Our only complaint was the hot tub was not working, which was one of the reasons we booked. Still, it more than met our needs.
