Owner description: Discover Park City's history at the Park City Museum on Historic Main Street. Prospectors discovered silver in 1868 in the area that soon after became Park City. Mine owners made fortunes, while thousands of miners simply made a living. After silver prices declined, Park City reinvented itself as a ski resort town. Interactive displays tell the Park City story in an engaging manner. Fun for the whole family! Open 7 days a week (Mon-Sat 10-7, Sun 12-6).

Staff knowledgeable about city and made helpful suggestions on how to locate places. We took the walking historic tour of the city and it was interesting but probably not worth an hour if you don't have much time to spend in the city.

If you are traveling with children, make sure they check in at the front desk to get the scavenger hunt! There is a prize at the end!

It happened to be a rainy day in Park City when my family and I decided to visit the museum. We were very impressed with all the interactive displays. It was such a great experience! Plus the staff is so friendly and very informative.

Interesting look at a Park City during its inception. Silver mining is how Park City started. A great model of the mines, two-stories high, complete with rail cars, elevator and mining equipment. They also have exhibits on the first ski slopes. And don't miss the subway car in the basement.

Take the 2-pm 1-hour walking tour, then stroll through the museum and relive silver mining days in Park City in one of the most unique multimedia museum experiences you may ever have. It is a little gem of a museum. We loved it.
