Owner description: Discover Park City's history at the Park City Museum on Historic Main Street. Prospectors discovered silver in 1868 in the area that soon after became Park City. Mine owners made fortunes, while thousands of miners simply made a living. After silver prices declined, Park City reinvented itself as a ski resort town. Interactive displays tell the Park City story in an engaging manner. Fun for the whole family! Open 7 days a week (Mon-Sat 10-7, Sun 12-6).

Great little museum. We have a 2nd home here and have visited town for 15 years and finally had the opportunity to visit the museum. Very interactive; would be great for school aged children as they can do scavenger hunts, as well as play in some of the exhibits such as an old ski train, jail cells, and mining lift systems. Informative for parents and the scavenger hunt keeps them busy.

My only complaint would be that there really weren't any appealing souvenir gifts such as magnets. As a magnet collector myself, we always grab one from each museum or attraction we visit. The only magnet we found was one of only two left that was a dinky plastic bag pincher with a magnet on the back, but it did say "Park City Museum", however it would have been nice to have a more pleasing souvenir for our magnet board of travel.

Thank you!

We took our 7 year old granddaughter to this museum and it was difficult to tell who enjoyed it more! There is a treasure hunt for children and it was a great way for us to share this venue with her. We all learned a lot about the history of Park City and had a deeper appreciation for those miners who "put it on the map". We were so happy we took the time and opportunity to visit the museum....and on Wednesdays it is FREE! Our granddaughter enjoyed "blowing up" the mine and doing the artwork. We probably spent almost two hours at the museum and didn't realize we were there that long. There are friendly people at the desk who are willing to share their historical knowledge...we highly recommend a visit to this museum. You will leave with a new appreciation of Park City.

We are so glad you were able to visit the Park City Museum. It looks like you came on one of our Free Days. These free days are very random and do not fall on a specific schedule (for example, not all Wednesdays are Free!). We are so happy you and your granddaughter had a great time and we hope you had a wonderful time in Park City!

I am not sure you can ever truly appreciate a vacation or trip unless you know a bit more about the area. The Park City Museum does a great job of telling the history of the area and allowing you to interact and be a part of history! We actually came across a coupon in some pamphlets we picked up on our trip so we had a two for one coupon. It was definitely worth the stop and we spent nearly two hours in the museum.

There are a great deal of interactive exhibits for the whole family to enjoy. Plus, the location is perfect, right next to a bookstore and chocolate shop!

The Park City Museum is a wonderful resource for educating people about the history of Park City. From Mining town to World Class Resort, Park City is a wonderful American Story. The Park City Museum brings that story to life!! My daughter has been three time and still asks to go in and "blow up" the Mine in the interactive display. take it from a townie... worth the time!!

This is a pretty kool little museum focusing on Park City's history. The layout is very smooth and the exhibits are very well done. Lots of interactive exhibits that will keep your attention. I really liked touring the old jail in the basement. You don't have to be a history nerd to enjoy this one. Good way to spend an hour or so.

Thank you for visiting the Park City Museum! We do think there is a little something for everyone in our Museum. Interactive exhibits, a treasure hunt for kids, and great historical objects and photos make this possible. We love to hear that even non-history nerds enjoy it! We hope your visit to Park City was a great one!
