“Better hotel in Park City”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

While staying there with a group we had a small dinner party at the restaurant.
Our group, 30 of us hated the food, bland, over cooked and very slow service. When we mention our issues to the management ... Well the answer weren't not exactly what you would of expect from a "luxury" hotel.
We will try a Main Street restaurant or another hotel next time.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite in June. The staff were all friendly and very helpful with helping us decide on activities & places to eat. Complimentary rides to main st. were great too. The room was big and the beds very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

For the last 3 summers, we have stayed at this hotel, while visiting our daughter, who lives in Salt Lake City. While the setting is beautiful, the quality of service has diminished. Previously, there were coffee urns set up in the lobby in the morning, so that one could grab a paper and cup of coffee. This trip, we were told that the coffee urns were broken, and that we would have to order from the restaurant. Restaurant staff were stilted and slow in providing service the several times that the we ordered from them; not the quality of restaurant staff that I remembered from our past visits. On a daily basis, housekeeping staff neglected to replace used room items, such as drinking glasses, shampoo, coffee, creamer, etc. Dirty dishes remained in the hallway through the night and into the next day. I found somebodyelse's hair in the shower the first time I used it. There just seemed to be a general apathy around the premises. I think that next summer we will try another hotel in the Canyons/Park City, perhaps the Hyatt Escala, which has one bedroom/separate living room suites for the same price as a bedroom suite at the Waldorf Astoria.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the pool side and above ground level; better views of the mountains.

Lovely hotel and beautiful location. Unfortunately the food service was abominable and the food of poor quality. We experience problems from room service to restaurant meals. Apparently they had just hired a new F&B manager and were lacking an executive chef. WE reported the problems and the general manager was very professional in response. Hopefully they get their act together soon. Because it was a Waldorf Astoria hotel our expectations were high. We were very disappointed.

We appreciate the feedback that you have provided regarding your Food Service at Waldorf Astoria in Park City. I sincerely apologize that the experience was not up to your expectations. I understand that you met with Kurtis Lesh our Front Office Manager regarding these experiences and that he removed all Room Service transactions from your folio. We have looked into the transactions and we were able to determine who the individuals that provided these missteps in service. We have shared this feedback with them individually and also utilized your feedback to Role Play with the Team on menu knowledge. We are currently working on and extensive training program to ensure that our Team Members here at Waldorf Astoria are the equipped to deliver the world-class experience that our guests have come to expect with our brand. Park City is primarily a winter holiday destination but it is equally lovely in the summer and without the crowds. Staying at the Waldorf Astoria makes it especially lovely. The service at any Waldorf Astoria is always exceptional as it is in Park City. The setting is magical with views of the mountains surrounding you. And, I love the "can do" attitude of the staff. Overall, a wonderful place for short holiday or even just for an evening (which we just completed).

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool (I believe all or most have decks).

Small room for the price. Bed was uncomfortable. Food is excellent, both dinner and breakfast. Hotel is in a developing area and outside amenities are not yet developed. Will be a wonderful area in a few years. Beautiful lobby.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at the Waldorf Astoria in Park City and it was a fantastic time. From the extremely knowledgeable concierge, to the staff going out of their way to be helpful, there was perfection at every turn. The waitstaff in Powder provided great service and even prepared a special dessert plate that was presented to us (without us saying anything).

Room Tip: My husband has Celiac, and the waitstaff / culinary team were able to offer gluten free suggestions...
