“Great hotel... TERRIBLE SERVICE”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2007

The Treasure Mountain Inn has all the makings of a nice hotel- updated rooms, wonderful location, etc. The problem is the service is SO bad, it actually cancels out all of the above. The service desk isn't staffed at night. When I had to make a call for late night assistance I was charged a fee. As if that wasn't enough, the woman who came out berated me for waking her, told me they expected their guests to "take care of themselves," and behaved in an otherwise unaccpetable manner. When I got back to my room and the heat wouldn't work I figured it wasn't worth another attempt.

Park City has plenty of wonderful hotels. I encourage travelers to stay somewhere else.

I read the other reviews, which is why I chose to stay here, and I am glad that I did. We were searching for an atmosphere that would be a little more grown up, since we didnt' want to get stuck in a condo with partying college students living it up all night next to us. I'm not that far past college, but enough to want sleep when I pay for a nice place on vacation! The other tenants there were very respectful and I hardly noticed any noise at all. The room was definitely one of the refurbished places, and so the days when my husband went skiing, I didn't mind one bit staying back in the room before I headed out. We had a nice kitchen and bathroom and two plasma TV's. The location is on Main Street, so if you want to see the old town, it's easy to just head out the door. We purchased the Passport program with the local taxi service, which takes you to areas within town "included" in the price of the airport shuttle service. I think the next time we'll just rent a car. Times when you do have to take the bus (to Albertsons or the factory outlet, where the Passport taxi program doesn't work) you have to wait for it and and then take tons of stops. The city busses are free and they take you everywhere you need to go, which is quite convenient, but in the frigid temperatures, I'd rather have had a car. That is the one thing we will do differently the next time.
Oh, and the breakfast restaurant, the Morning Ray, that everyone else says is great? Mediocre tasting and bad service. I'd rather have gone to Albertson's and cooked myself breakfast. It would have tasted much better.

We stayed at TMI for four nights in January - it seemed expensive until i looked at the the prices for similar accommodation in the area. Great location for Main Street shops and restaurants - highly recommend Chimayo and Bankok Thai on Main (and the on-site restaurant for breakfast is great). Walking distance to town lift although you will need to reserve a bit of energy for the uphill walk at the end of the day! We stayed in room 10 (1 bed Condo) loads of space, very comfortable lounge with massive TV and patio doors leading onto the central courtyard with hot tub. I should mention the fact that the beds are ridiculously high which was fun but could be problematic for older guests!! Bathroom was basic but clean and functional. The heated garage was a real winner when sorting out our ski gear at the beginning and end of the day. I would certainly stay there again if I get the chance to return to Park City.

We've stayed here twice and have been fully satisfied both times...Jan 2007 and September 2006. If you want a downtown location, this cannot be beat! The heated garage was very welcome in January. Our rooms were not luxurious, but were clean and everything worked. I agree there's a funky smell in the hallways, but we had no problem in our room.

I suspect the wildly different reviews may relate to the fact that each condo is different, and there is wide variance in decor and modernization. In that respect, a reservation here is Russian Roulette. We will be staying here again.

  • Liked — location, value, heated underground parking
  • Disliked — strange smell in hallway

We stayed here with our nine year old daughter for four nights in January. The staff was very nice and allowed us to check in early. All the units have kitchens and most units have been totally redone. Ours was so new most of the pots and pans hadn't even been used yet! We were in a one bedroom unit which had two queen size beds. Unit had two flat screen tv's and also DVD players. Underground heated parking with elevator up to the unit was key during the cold weather. You are located right on main streeet for easy walking to restaurants and shopping. If you are looking for a condo setting, this is the place. If you want a hotel with lots of amenities, services and spas, you would prefer a different location. We loved having a nice place to cook dinner and put our feet up at the end of a long day of skiing. We would stay her again!

Our family of 5 just stayed here over the holiday, just before the crowds hit. We were in a separate building just behind the main building. It was a nice, clean 2 bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen unit with our own jacuzzi right out the door. We could not lock our doors, which could be unsettling to some. And was a little noisy later in the evening. While the hot tub was not as bad as some reviews, it was over loaded with chlorine and could have been hotter. We had breakfast at the attached restaurant and it was quite good. We bought our lift tickets in the lobby which allowed us to avoid huge lines at Park City Mountain. It was very convenient to be able to walk the downtown Park City in the evening (which almost has no street parking at this time of year) though keep in mind you are at the south end of town, which is quite a long walk with skis/boots to the town lift. We actually enjoyed being able to get away from the crowds at the base of the mountain and liked staying near downtown Park City. The staff was all quite friendly and accomodating and if you look hard, their website can be very helpful! All in all not a bad place to stay.

Found the Treasure Mountain Inn after a long and disappointing search for a clean, stylish yet affordable hotel in Park City. After reading reviews on Trip Advisor, seeing photos of the 1 bedrooms on the site, and learning of its eco-friendly philosophy, we booked a room through their site, and requested one of the refurbished rooms. Since our arrival, we have been overwhelmed by everything it has to offer, for the price. Prior to arrival, they assisted in booking our transportation through Park City Transportation which was a fabulous Cadillac Escalade - very nice ride. My husband arrived very early in the morning, and they were able to provide him a room immediately. The hotel staff was so warm and friendly, assisting in storing skis, finding a nice restaurant, and more. We stayed in room #39 which has a flat screen TV, DVD player, small kitchen with granite countertops, and ceramic tile in the bathroom and free Wi-Fi. The restaurant within the hotel is excellent and the staff there was warm and friendly as well. Luxury on a budget price compared to all other offerings in Park City. Highly recommend it and will stay here again!

  • Liked — Stylish room for the price, with a great Main Street location
  • Disliked — Could potentially be noisy with crowded, rowdy Main Street crowd
  • Tips/Secrets — Ask for a refurbished room - they soon will all be, but until then, ask! It's worth it.
