“TImeshare property with different Marriott rules-Stay Away”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

This hotel is right at the base of the mountain and is in the middle of the action but I would have stayed at the full service Marriott due to the difficult check in and check out policies. This property does not let you change your reservations to come in early or check out early. The front desk agents have no power and have to ask the manager about everything. We had called the Marriott rewards reservation line to change our reservation to arrive a day early. When we arrived, they said we couldn't check in because our reservation was for tomorrow. We showed her our confirmation from Marriott stating we were arriving today and still said no we couldn't check in. She went to get her manager and he kept saying your reservation is for tomorrow not today. Finally after 40 minutes they gave us our room. It was on the second floor and loud. The manager said it is a popular room with families because it is close to everything and on the same level as the pool. This is true but every family was on that floor and kids ran the hallways until 11pm. The hotel had lots of fun activities for the kids. The pool was great the first 2 days besides the fact that it appeared everyone at the pool had 6-8 kids per family. There were sooooooooo many kids and we have 2 kids but the mass amounts were hard to deal with. The third day the main pools temp was 95 degrees because the thermal heating broke so it was too hot to stay in the water longer than 5 minutes. We talked to a staff member and he said that it would be awhile before they figured out how to fix it. My son had to go to urgent care and we needed to check out a day early due to his illness. I went to the front desk to let them know we would be checking out and once again she said I have to talk to a manager and can't change your reservation. She goes back behind the secret doors and appears about 5 minutes later stating that they can check me out early but just this once.

Another complaint is no housekeeping just a tidy service. Once again, because this is a timeshare property they will only refill your towels. I was paying $200 a night and not receiving maid service, which was annoying.

The villa was very nice and it was great to have a full kitchen. I wouldn't return to this hotel based on the fact that you cannot change your stay, housekeeping, and the lack of helpfulness from the front desk. It didn't meet my Marriott expectations and we are rewards members. I called to complain and I was transferred to the Timeshare division of the company and the agent could have cared less. They had every chance to sell us on a timeshare with their amazing customer service, housekeeping, food, etc but I would say 1000% stay away from Marriott timeshares if not stay away from all timeshares in general.

On one hand this is a great hotel. The rooms are very clean, modern and comfortable as you would expect from a good Marriott facility. On the other hand, you may be miserable here - we were. We ended-up with an adjoining room which turned out to be horrible. The constant noise through the thin door was horrible. You should also know that this is a family-focused place so you will need to get used to kids running through the hallways, crying in the elevators, etc. If you are an adult couple, consider staying elsewhere but if you do stay there, under no circumstances allow them to give you an adjoining room.

I stayed with family at the Marriott's MountainSide on June 18, and again on the 23rd. Both times the rooms were gorgeous, immaculate, and comfortable (even the sofa-bed, which I used, was very comfortable...). The first time was a two-room suite, with virtually a full kitchen.
If I were pressed under duress by a terrorist organization (or the NSA) to find a fault, it would be the current construction had the parking lots all screwed up - and after driving all day, following "detour" signs while your GPS frantically tells you "you missed your turn you imbecile!" is... well... it could have been better.
However, the check-in staff were very good about offering the shuttle bus and a baggage porter to help from the lower underground lot up to the hotel.... absolutely no complaint there (I chose to walk both times.. after 10 hours in the car, you need a stretch!).

This hotel IS out of my usual price range, but given the opportunity again, I may just splurge for this place if I find myself in Park City Utah again.

We stayed here in late May and enjoyed our stay. It is a short walk to downtown historic Park City and is located next to the Park City Mountain Resort. You can ride the Alpine Slide, coaster, zip line or take a lift ride to the top of the mountain and mountain bike back down. The public areas were well maintained with a lot of activities for adults and children. The heated pool and hot tubs were the best part of our stay. The right temperature for a cool evening of soaking and star gazing. The staff was very friendly and provide prompt service. The villa was excellent from the kitchen to the very comfortable beds. We will be returning to this resort and will recommend it to our friends and family.

Room Tip: Pool facing rooms have a better view of the resort and mountains. The upper floors have less A/C noi...

We went to Park City on a special deal pre season this past winter. Definitely will go back to try skiing there. Some of my friends asked why we were going to Utah. Well we thought it would be fun to visit and couldn't pass up the deal. Turns out this was probably the best state we have visited. We put over 1500 miles on our rental car visiting National Parks as well as the area. Park City is great and downtown is very cool. This was close to Sundance and I recommend going there and eating too. Eating overall was exquisite. The hotel was great - right on the mountain. Hot tub at night under the brilliant stars was memorable (even though it was in the teens and snowing most nights). Great pool and firepits. We had a two bedroom suite and it was clean, spacious and just great. There is so much to do here and that was before ski season. Some things are a drive but 80MPH highways and like zero traffic never dissuaded us from jumping in the car.

Room Tip: Upper floors seem to be better. They have views of the mountain and even secluded views - both are g...

We loved Park City and the Marriott! My wife and 2 kids (12 and 13) came to Park City for a lacrosse tournament and stayed at the Marriott Mountainside. We loved everything about the place. The hotel has 5 or 6 hot tubs and a large heated pool. We were in the pool every night. The pool area is beautiful. You can grill on the bbq's or roast s'mores or hot dogs over the fire pits.

The resort is located right next to the zip line and Alpine slide. Putt putt golf and a climbing wall are nearby as well. These activities have additional fees.

The hotel is great. Tons of scheduled activities, pool tables and ping pong, a movie theater, shuffleboard, Xbox, etc...

We would definitely come back.

We requested a room with view of mountains which we were assigned. We did not know that this meant a view of the pool. The pool is NOISY until 11PM. We didn't mind the noise during the day, until about 10PM but after 10PM, we had to close the windows in order to watch TV.

Our room was a "master unit" with a full , nicely equipped kitchen, living area with TV, DVR. The bedroom had king size bed, large soaking tub, sink and vanity. The bathroom had shower, toilet and sink with vanity.

There are at least 13 activities each day during the summer for all ages. There are rooms for kids of different ages. We did not participate in any of the activities. There are free movies, pool, hot tubs, exercise room, lounge areas for relaxing with friends. There were kids running around everywhere.

There is only one restaurant nearby which is open for dinner. There are several which are open for lunch and breakfast. Additionally, there are "rides" for a fees.. this includes a zip line etc

The staff was friendly, helpful.. they deserve extra credit for remembering our names. We have a hybrid car which needs to be plugged in daily. MaryAnne went out of her way to help us find the best place to plug inour car. Thank you, Mary Anne.

This appears to be the perfect place for families and kids. We would return here only if we were taking the grandkids with us.

Room Tip: We had room 7637 on the 6th floor over looking the pool. The noise from the pool was LOUD!
